Williams Delighted to Be Staying With Town
Tuesday, 1st Apr 2014 12:07

Jonny Williams says he’s delighted to have extended his loan with the Blues until the end of the Championship season having enjoyed his first month at Portman Road. The 20-year-old Crystal Palace player’s second month with Town was confirmed last night.

Williams told the club site: “I’m delighted to be extending the loan because I’ve really enjoyed my time at Ipswich.

“It’s been a great experience for me and I’ve loved working under the manager and TC.

“I’m excited to get back training with the lads and playing my part as we try and push into the play-offs.”

Palace can recall the Wales international at 24 hours’ notice if he is required during the closing weeks of their relegation battle, but if that doesn’t happen and the Blues reach the top six the loan can be extended into a third month covering all three play-off games.

So refreshing to see a young, quality player who genuinely wants to play for us. If we can keep him for the season without being recalled then I think we have a great chance of making the play-offs! Go get them Jonny!!

Chance of getting him in over the summer full time?

If Palace instigate the 24 hour recall, can he then come back on loan to us or is the loan at an end as soon they take him back? Anyone know?

Great to have him, If we did win promotion would it be worth making a bid. I know nothing can be done and it's standard practice but I really dislike the 24hr clause. COYB's

It is great news that the loan has been extended & it can only aid our chances of getting 6th spot, but it is unfair on the lad to have so much expectation around this news/signing. He'll do well again, I've no doubt, but almost assuming that he will compensate for all areas of weakness in the squad it is bit much to ask of him.
He has been a great addition & a breath of fresh air in the side, while possibly most significantly it has shown the management team what we have been missing creatively in the centre of midfield & linking to the striker(s) for most of the season.
We have almost zero chance of signing him for next season, but at least it should make Mick determined to sign a likeminded & likeability type player in the summer, to pull the strings for us.
There might be more to come from Woody, but Taylor's days, for whatever reason, rightly or wrongly, appear numbered, so such a player is an absolute must.

Williams is great, but it's not just him. The whole set-up at ITFC is allowing key players (e.g. Murphy, Nouble, Wordsworth, Berra) to come into good form at just the right time. If someone is injured or drops away, another player steps up.

I have composed a poem about vampires:

Suarez gives you a bite
Under your chin
Always been a vampire
Red blood dripping from his fangs
Eating human necks
Zoo is where he belongs

Notice how it spells out Suarez?

Imagine if Mick liked Taylor and McGoldrick hadn't got injured, those two and Williams behind Murphy would tear up this league! We can only dream. I would also like to see Skuse and Wordsworth in the holding roles.

Charsfield no this is not an April Fool joke especially as it was yesterday.
However was amused by two other reports on club website
1-That Alan Brazil is being lined up to be Assistant Fitness coach with Andy Liddell and
2-That a young unknown French designer Avril Uno (or similar)is in talks to replace Mitre at the end of season. Her remit is to use the old unused shirts which have not been sold and recycle them there by saving town a lot of money!!!

I think we could get him in the summer if palace stay up he has no prem experience and they'd spend money In the summer don't think he'd be in the first eleven.
