Williams and Parr Miss Out
Saturday, 1st Nov 2014 14:12

Jonny Williams and Jonny Parr both miss today’s game at Blackpool due to injury, while Stephen Hunt is recalled and Tyrone Mings returns after his one-match ban.

Williams (ankle) and Parr (groin) join Kevin Bru (groin), who was ruled out earlier in the week, on the sidelines. Parr’s injury could mean the Blues don’t extend Elliott Hewitt’s loan spell at Colchester when it ends tomorrow.

Skipper Luke Chambers will continue at right-back with Mings taking up his usual left-back role.

Manager Mick McCarthy has options elsewhere. Hunt - who almost joined Blackpool before signing at Town last season - could start in the front three or as a midfield four with Teddy Bishop also moving wide.

Blackpool: Lewis, Dunne, Clarke, Rentmeister, Daniels, McMahon, Lundstram, J Oriol, Delfouneso, Miller, Ranger. Subs: Parish, Zoko, Orlandi, Blackman, Mellis, E Oriol, Cywka.

Town: Gerken, Chambers (c), Mings, Berra, Smith, Skuse, Hyam, Bishop, Hunt, McGoldrick, Murphy. Subs: Bialkowski, Clarke, Anderson, Tabb, Henshall, Bajner, Sammon. Referee: Andy Haines (Tyne and Wear).

Interesting team selection. Lack of back up defensive options still worrying, whilst personally don't like a Skuse/ Hyam central midfield. Can't see many impact options from the bench, but hopefully won't come to that. Looking forward to three points.

Haven't seen Hunt this year, does he still offer as little as he did last season?

Come on Town, surely a win against a bottom-of-the-league Blackpool side assemled in a hurry in the summer after being down to eight players. Please let's kill them off today rather than sitting back if we are in the lead.

So we have Stewart and Collison and Ambrose who could do a job as impact player - Where has Stewart gone - Can only presume his attitude is not right ?
Tabb is a better option ?? Very dubious
We must get three points today

would be better with Williams and parr , but if we are not good enough to beat a very poor blackpool team today we can give up all hopes of the play - offs

Chambers still at right back and Hyam/Skuse still alongside each other in midfield - I thought Mick was promising changes? - looks like Mick is going with a 442 as Sammon has rightfully been rested. 3 points today expected.

blueherts I watched Stewart in a game at Portman Road not long ago. If he thinks that attitude and performance was good enough the young lad has a lot to learn. At the moment he is a million miles away from the 1st team. As for Collison and Ambrose these 2 are at the club on past history of playing and I can't see them performing to that standard again. They too have to work harder, the club is not a holiday camp anymore. MM requires a good work ethic. I for one am disappointed at Chambers starting at right back yet again, he just can't play there and it makes us weak. Blackpool will be looking at that position I'm sure as one they can exploit. Hunt or Anderson could play that position better. I really can't see from the team selected to play today that we are really going to take the game to Blackpool and come away with a win, more like play a tight game and if were lucky get a draw. This is Blackpool for god sake they are on the bottom with only 6 points, get at them from the start and be positive. 3 points a must. I'll be pleased if I'm wrong at 4.50pm!
