Murphy Back for Blues
Thursday, 5th Feb 2015 14:30

Championship top scorer Daryl Murphy is over his calf strain and will be back in the Town side which faces Rotherham at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

Manager Mick McCarthy confirmed that the 18-goal hitman, absent for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Wigan, is back in action: “He’s fine, he trained today, he’s good to go.

“After all the questions last week, ‘Did we miss him?’. You miss players and we have a squad and other people come in, but when you’ve got the leading goalscorer in the league you want him available and he is this week.”

Dean Gerken (hip) and Luke Hyam (knee) are the only players currently sidelined but both are moving in the right direction: “Luke is progressing as well as can be expected.

“It was a nasty injury, he strained his medial ligament and hopefully he’ll be back within the timescale, the six weeks.

“And Gerks has been training but is not yet kicking a ball because it was his hip flexor so that needs to be protected. He’s back out and he’s progressing nicely.”

Yippee! His brief absence just underlined how much we need him.

Lets hope he hits the ground running.
Would like to see him paired with Freddie and McG just behind them.

Excellent... Let's hope he becomes our '20 goals striker' that everyone says is needed if you're going to get promotion, this weekend with a brace or hat trick... (if that's not too greedy!)

Boom! Brilliant news. Let's go out and poke a few past Rotherham, that's make a nice change from the last couple games. Hope we can play some football rather than headball as well, that'd be good.

Cool, I thought we had sold him to Hull.

MM has been quoted saying "win your home games and draw away" so does that mean as we drwa at home last week we need to push for a win away? ... That's how I would understand that logic!

I wish MM could play Sears partner with Murphy and Mcgoldrick is behind of them!

We missed him pure and simple. Had we played our creative midfield players and a proper right back we may of been able to keep the ball on the grass and pass correctly to a team mate. The fact we could not meant hoof ball to light weights up top. Murph can mix it and allows others to play.

Good news. Missed last week as sadly we don't have a similar option to replace him.

Great to have you back Murph. Look out your about to have high balls blasted at you from all angles, but all from defense.

Samwhite. Great team you've picked there. Spot on. Chambers has to play CB and Parr must play.
If only MM would play that 11.

Agree with that team Sam White, although you can't have Hyam on the bench at the moment, he is injured.

Good team SamWhite, but Hyam is out. I'd have Ambrose and Stewart on the bench for Hyam and Clarke.
Come on boys lets get out of this funk!

SamWhite I think its well known now 80-90% of town fans want that line up!

It's our best, however, Mick is a tad to cautious, I think we need to give him a DVD of the games after he first dropped Smith = 5 wins on the bounce!

Perfect team, in my eyes only chance to give the top two a run for their money.

Just cant see Mick playing 4 33 again and even if he did he would soon drop Parr again and go for CB's all along the defence.

Samwhite for manager. Very tidy team. Quality balance pace and creativity. Shows we have the players and don't need too much in way of recruitment. Next step is to get MM onside.hmm..
