Town and Canaries Linked With Adeyemi
Tuesday, 9th May 2017 12:45

Town and Norwich City are reported to be among the Championship clubs eyeing out-of-contract Cardiff City midfielder Tom Adeyemi, who has spent the season on loan with relegated Rotherham United.

The 25-year-old has been made what Millers boss Paul Warne describes as a “really impressive offer” at the New York Stadium but Norwich-born Adeyemi, who scored the South Yorkshire side’s winning goal against the Blues last month, is keen to stay in the Championship.

According to the Sheffield Star the Blues are “heading the Championship clubs” interested in Adeyemi with his former side Norwich also interested.

Adeyemi came through the ranks at Carrrow Road and spent time on loan at Bradford, Oldham and Brentford before moving on to Birmingham on a permanent basis in 2013 having been released by the Canaries.

After a year at St Andrew’s the 6ft 1in tall midfielder joined Cardiff for a fee in excess of £1 million. Having failed to establish himself as a regular with the Bluebirds in 2014/15, he moved on to Leeds on a season-long loan the following season.

Adeyemi, who qualifies to play international football for Nigeria, joined Rotherham in August last year on a similar basis and went on to score seven goals in 29 starts and one sub appearance for the Millers.

A very decent goalscoring midfielder in a badly adrfit relegated club. Could well be another bargain pick-up.
Also I note he may have already played alongside Huws at Cardiff & therefore may already know each others game - a possible reunited midfield partnership?
Huws/Adeyami/Ward - all midfield goalscorers - can't be bad.

Quite like him as a player box to box , would hardly describe him as a decent goalscoring midfielder and it is worrying that he cannot hold down a place at mid table championship sides but certainly would offer more in breaking up play and going forward than Skuse

The more mid field players we get the less chance of bishop and co coming into the side

Born in Norwich, youth team at Norwich. I rather think we would be his last resort. Rather we signed Huws.

Talented but light weight was the impression I got from their fans in Harry's last piece on them

If Mccarthy is going, would it not be best to leave the planning to the new gaffer?

Surco... 7 goals 30 games this season a good return from a midfielder i would say! When was the last time we had someone scoring that from midfield who was our player? Grant Ward scored 6 including a hatrick! We definitely need more goals from midfield!

Dunno about anyone else but I just feel like every player that comes in between now & McCarthy getting the eventual shove (October is my prediction) is just a waste of time and money - this is where we should've appointed the likes of George Burley as Director of football years ago to bring in/bring through (alongside Bryan Klug) the right sort of player into a playing style & system that we all crave.

I feel like we're all just treading water/awaiting the inevitable under the current management team - not good - there's been far too much "dead time" over these last 8 years.

I've seen him live twice this season and he has looked decent both times. Nothing amazing about him though 7 goals in 29 starts is a nice return for a CM.

I wouldn't mind him if we also sign Danny Ward.

Don't really know much about him, but he failed to make the grade at Norwich and Cardiff - not a strong pedigree...

Why are we linked with players when no one wants Mick in charge anymore? Shouldn't we be getting a new manager in before so he can chose the players HE wants!?

absolutely not - he is from Norwich - end of conversation

Dissboy 7 goals in 30 games this season or 10 in 107 games at championship level , a number of players can have one good year look at Murphy , the whole reason why MM still has a job ?

Norwich announced today on bbc football that their new manager is already in a job! please let be our great leader so that we can sit back and watch him do to them what he has done to us and worse if that is humanly possible.
