Douglas on Trial at Luton
Thursday, 26th Oct 2017 11:21

Former Blues midfielder Jonathan Douglas is training with League Two Luton as he looks to win a contract with the Hatters.

The 35-year-old was released by Town in the summer after two seasons at the club in which he made 52 starts and 10 sub appearance, scoring three goals.

Maybe if it was Luton airport, he could stand on the runway and point the planes in the right direction?

You need a trial to be a kit man nowadays?

Saddens me sometimes to see supposed Town fan comments on this site. Jonathan Douglas didn't purposely play bad. He didn't hate us, and gave it his best shot, and played under instructions. So it didn't work out in many fans eyes. Fair enough, but I don't like this relentless insulting of players that didn't live up to the high expectations of some fans. Love Town but damn, there are some nasty supporters nowadays.

Exactly right Jaycee.

He's near the end of his career so it's not an opportunity to bash him. There are plenty of other players (like Coke etc) who haven't got contracts and are much younger than him. He'd do well at Luton for a season, best of luck to him.

Well said jaycee. A decent bloke who never once complained about the abuse he got from fans. Nasty is the right word.

To be fair to Douglas it wasn't his fault that he got repeatedly selected for 62 appearances when only playing a handful of ok games , which then made him the target of hate for a failing side

Although i was carefull not to abuse Douglas, as he does not pick the team, he seemed to me to always play within himself. His almost constant selection is one of the main reasons i doubt our manager.

Not sure if he is good enough for Div 2, but at least we haven't got to worry about seeing him on our midfield again

I wasn't his greatest fan but I see no need nor point in being nasty towards him.
I think it's highly disrespectful from so called fans.
He, like many others, were probably "obeying orders".
Enjoy your twilight career at Luton.
Good luck JD, no hard feelings.

Feel sorry for him, he tried his best but Luton is a better place for Douglas.

Jeez, some of the 'fans' on here are such mouthbreathers... too many claim to support the club and players yet do anything but.
