Palace Eyeing Bialkowski Claim
Sunday, 24th Dec 2017 15:39

Crystal Palace are reported to be showing interest in Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski ahead of the January transfer window.

According to The Sun on Sunday the Eagles are looking to sign a keeper during the window with Paris Saint-Germain’s Kevin Trapp their top target.

However, they are said view Bialkowski as an alternative if they're unable to land the German international.

Having made checks on the former Poland U20 international, manager Roy Hodgson is claimed to have contacted Town regarding the 30-year-old and may be close to making an offer.

Bialkowski is out of contract in the summer but with the Blues having an option to keep him for a further year, something they are all but certain to exercise before the end of the season.

Asked whether he was aware of any interest in him after yesterday’s game at Wolves, Bialkowski said: “I’m just trying concentrate on my football, I’m just doing my thing.”

A squad full of quality please. 10M = 40 Waggies. As long as the cash goes to our Youth policy and MM.

Gary's response speaks volumes. If an offer from a PL club comes in, he will want to go. Few could blame him.

Wouldn't be right to stop him progressing - if the right price was offered.
Looking forward to seeing young Michael Crowe in goal.

Best keeper outside the Premier league.I would hate to see him go but he deserves a chance in the big time. Its difficult to find a good reliable keeper these days so Town would find it very hard to replace him.
It could possibly end our season if he left.Lets just hope its paper talk and nothing more.

Funny how mm was talking about loaning a new keeper when hes always said gerks is capable...
He knows...

Get the feeling MM doesn't rate Michael Crowe at all. If Bart does go we'll need a new keeper and not revert back to Gerken.

Deano,
Gerkins got a hip injury which may take time to clear up, so my money is on another keeper to support Bart. I'd be very surprised if they allowed Bart to go. He's the best in the division, so if a premiership team did come calling the club should be looking for 20 million plus. Judging by some of the average keepers in the premiership that would be a snip and allow us to buy in some quality outfielders. I somehow don't think we'll be getting Godson in this window judging by the rave reviews he got in today's papers. Priority for me would be a right-back and maybe a centre half.

It would be great get a huge lump of cash for him. Can't stand in the way of progress

20 mill plus for Bart? Sorry but money must truly be bonkers if that's the case. Sad truth is if we receive an offer between 3 and 5 mill he will be sold. Bearing in mind he's out of contract in the summer a foreign club could just offer him a deal to in the summer and we would get nothing....im worried

After the Liverpool goalkeepers performance yesterday......they couldn't do any worse.

OwainG1992. Like most of the players, other than McGoldrick, we have an option to extend his contract for a further year. It's in the article, above.

Or will the club offer Bart a new deal to end the speculation.

Would be a surprise if he left, however still in the Championship by the end of the season I could see him leaving

If he does go there Hennessy wants to be part of the deal + a few million. But if I were Bart you wouldn't go to place he's too good for that.

£5m and Speroni. Done deal ;-)

He's a great keeper and I don't want to lose him but if the price is right...

I'm sure Bart would relish a shot at the Premier League and a contract that will safeguard his family's future. I can only wish him well if an offer comes in and a deal is agreed. He's been a great servant to the club.

...meanwhile Evans does what exactly to secure Bart on an extended contract?

The usual inefficiencies at senior management levels I see!!

If we lose him our season is done.

AbujaBlue added 23:36 - Dec 24
Don't forget to add the friendly clause that will never be honoured...

In all seriousness though I really hope nothing comes of it. I know we need money, but based on current form who knows, we could be in for a playoff shout. Without him there is no chance.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone comes in for him during the January window.

How we deal with any such bid will show our level of ambition, or lack of it!

KiwiBlue2 added 23:45 - Dec 24
At least we will get a fee given the option on him. If an offer is received now I hope we hold on to him until end of season given our position now. If we went up there shouldn't be incentive for him to leave. If we don't go up then we may see several bids and we could maximise the price. Either way the funds could be used to really strengthen us. Would be very sad to see him go but he has been brilliant for us and would be remembered as one of our best ever. Merry Xmas everyone
