Saturday, 14th Apr 2018 14:20

Grant Ward is at right wing-back, a role in which Klug used to play him during their days together in the Tottenham academy, with Barry Cotter, who impressed on his debut on Tuesday, dropping to the bench. Myles Kenlock is at left wing-back.

In central midfield, stand-in skipper Cole Skuse is set to play behind Luke Hyam and Tristan Nydam. Bersant Celina misses out as he is unwell.

Forest include ex-Town loanee Jack Colback in their starting XI but Daryl Murphy remains sidelined with a calf injury.

Liking the line up. New era, new chapter, and plenty of youths in the squad. Would love it for Klug if we were to win, whatever the result positivity all the way now.

Looks good. Given that we've not won there in the last 12 attempts, a win would be perfect.
Only 1 loanee starts as well, and that's enforced due to Chambo not being allowed to continue with a rib sticking out.

Whenever I've seen Morris in the U23's he's looked decent and direct. Go on lad!

If you're going to play 3 at the back then your wingbacks should be forward thinking players, and that's what this lineup has. Hopefully Nydam will be free to express himself in the middle of the park as well. Looks like we're going to try and play football today! Happy days.

In fairness Mick did give these lads their debuts. As Bryan said Mick was very supportive of the youth system. Think the foundations are there with a little investment and correct manager we have a chance.

Not wanting to sound negative but this is probably the team McCarthy would have picked, the season has been over for a long time now so would have loved to have seen Connolly and carayol instead of skuse and hyam and just gone for the old kevin keegan Newcastle attack, attack, attack style. Even if we lose the game but play good attacking football and score a few I think the long suffering fans would appreciate it and would be totally different atmosphere to say burton/hull games.
I know he doesn't want the job but personally would love to klug involved in some way with the 1st team, COYB

What sort of line up do you call that!!!

No ambition to finish above Norwich for the first time in years, Ward playing was obvious after Klug was so influential bringing him in from Spurs, God help us!!!!

If MM had picked this team the comments above would be very different.

Tony88- exactly: if Mick had also said that most of the youngsters are not ready for the first team and some have had to be thrown in too early he'd have been crucified but that's exactly what Klug said this week.

Hasn't Klug said he can't expect the players to change their style overnight so this sort of line up was to be expected. Let's see how they play before we start to criticise. Let's just be happy we don't have to listen to MacArthys post arch drivel!

Tomy88 my comment would've been different had McCarthy picked that team as it would've been sit deep and lump it forward BK won't let his players do that.

As has been said right from the top comment ....it's giving the youngsters a chance ,. Everything that muck said he was going to do yet never did....I honestly don't care what the result is today as long as these youngsters grow in confidence and show the fight for the shirt

.....at CP we saw an ecstatic 2000 fans applaud the youngsters off the pitch because they played for their club

...this new era has started well

Before careful what you wish for, I was told from the mick lovers. Well guess what a first half goal, is a good enough reason for me. But I'm only a numbskull. WHAT DID YOU SAY CHRIS SUTTON.

........ and still the 'happy clappers' keep wingeing - give it a rest, or go and have lunch with McCarthy.

The biggest difference in the line up is the wing backs for me, MM played 2 full backs in these positions in Spence /Iorfa and Knudsen effectively making a back 5 ... Klug is playing more attacking players in Kenlock and Ward in those positions. Just that will make us much more attacking going forwards.
