Blues Linked With Renewed Tilt Interest Friday, 17th Aug 2018 15:41
Town are reported to have renewed their interest in Blackpool centre-half Curtis Tilt.
The Blues chased the 27-year-old throughout the transfer window making a number of bids, the highest reaching £800,000, before giving up the chase and turning their attention to AFC Wimbledon’s Deji Oshilaja on deadline day, however, they were unable to agree a deal with the Dons.
Now, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Town have gone back for Tilt, who is understood to have handed in a transfer request at Bloomfield Road.
While the transfer window has closed, clubs are able to take players on loan until the end of the month with a view to those deals becoming permanent switches in January.
Tilt played in non-league for Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town, AFC Telford Town, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers (loan) before joining Blackpool last summer.
He made 45 starts for the League One side in 2017/18, his first EFL campaign, scoring once and picking up three Seasiders’ player of the season gongs.
Tilt's only appearance for Blackpool so far this season was in the Carabao Cup tie against Barnsley on Tuesday.
Rangers, Reading, QPR and Portsmouth were all also been linked with Tilt during the summer.

The Nsiala/Nolan deal needed the money from the Waghorn deal to go through ... so for not getting this done during the window in time I guess the funds simply weren't there .. especially with the way Blackpool were dealing with it...
With Garner though being sold in the last minutes of the window .. perhaps this is why the funds are now there and even to be closer to the amount Blackpool were asking for in the first place.

You make it sound like we've got an owner who has £5.67 to his name!! He has billions! It's pathetic and your post though unintentionally, highlights our shoestring existence perfectly.
Just pay the extra £200k and get it resolved. It's no good for anyone being stubborn about it. If he's really that good and available for free next year then the chances are he'll get a much better offer than us at that point and not join us anyway. Get him in now while we can.
With the transfer window closed now, would this be a lean deal, becoming a permanent move in due course? I'm assuming that's the angle we'd take now on Tilt?
This deal has caused major disruption up at Blackpool, causing a manager to lose his job, protests during and after their home game and the player missing for 2 games after handing in a transfer request. Tilt missed last Saturday's game but played in the cup midweek and picked up a booking. With the Woolf out for a few weeks we need o progress this deal as it is unfair that we are playing Chamo on the left which reduces his effectiveness and we need the back 4 to gel properly work as a unit. Unfortunately their owner has just dug his heels in, don't know if it is personal between him and Evans, perhaps the PFA need to get involved regarding the players mental state
Perhaps we can get him on loan with a view to signing in Jan and help the deal with a couple of loanees going up there, but we are talking Oystons and they have p1ssed about enough already!!!!!
I don't have any issue with the owner not being held to randson providing the offers were realistic in the first place. £800K certainly seems top end to me. Equally, if for whatever reason you give up on a target make sure you have an alternate lined up. Sadly, that's where we fell down. Left it too late to move on to another target.
I believe that we're well loaded with players from lower leagues, I would prefer to bring in Cameron Carter-Vickers again. Also, how about Gareth McAuley? Ok, he's 38 years old but he was a regular Premier League player up until less than a year ago. He could be a useful squad player, bring experience to the dressing room and - as a free agent - wouldn't use up any of our loan allocation.
Great high lights package for a CB , quite surprised . This is the news I looked for every morning b4 the window closed at 5.30 am here in NZ. Fingers crossed it happens
John Terry isn't with a club right now. At least he'd add some much needed experience. Surely he doesn't need the money that badly that something could be done.
Blackpool hard to deal with. the Oyston family are nearly as bad as Evans PLC. Both owning their clubs for tax reduction purposes. High time both were kicked out
@timkatieadamitfc Don't think there is any way out of that loan-to-buy deals (I might be wrong). But would agree, two defenders and a striker needed. Think we may need to get one of those defenders on a free, and John Terry's attitude and leadership experience wouldn't be a bad thing right now. We could also go down the root a lot of clubs take (bring in all 8 loanees and only have 5 of them on any given match day).
