Harrop: My Game is to Create Things Going Forward and to Make Things Happen
Wednesday, 20th Jan 2021 14:09

New loan signing Josh Harrop says he’s at Town to create things going forward and to make things happen.

The 25-year-old, who plays primarily as a number 10 or on either flank as well as being able to operate as a second striker, joined the Blues on loan to the end of the season from Preston earlier this afternoon.

"I’d like to think I’m an honest player, I give my all," Harrop told iFollow Ipswich. ”I’m technical. I like to get on the ball and make things happen.

"That’s my game; to create things going forward and to make things happen. Whether that’s a through ball, a cross or driving through the middle.

“That’s what I want to be doing while I’m here. I want to be performing week in, week out and showing what I’m about.

"I want to score goals, I want to show what I can do on the pitch for the fans, myself and the club.

"I prefer to play through the middle. I want to bring something new to the team, kick on and do well here.

"It’s in my character that I want to win things. Hopefully, I’ll help the squad push for that. I’ve come in for myself and the club to do well."

.....sounds like he'll be the one player in the team who actually knows what he's meant to do. Wonder how long that'll last !

Good luck with going forward and creating things.
There's 21 other players on the pitch that will try to stop you.

I think every supporter will back you 100% if you do this Josh. Every supporter has been crying out for someone in this role. We have some great players in the squad who will be looking to you to do this. I am sure we will be promoted with you feeding the forward players and you will also be scoring and taking the gloomaway from the supporters here.

I really hope so. As BA81 has said, feed Norwood and he will score. Oh for the days of Beattie swashbuckling his way through the pitch, Holland and Magilton making things happen. This is what Downes, Bishop etc could and should be doing if the team is set up properly. Peterborough may be too early to make an impact but after that I demand and expect Town to score goals !

Sounds very promising, hopefully both can hit the ground running and help us to get out of this league this year.
It's creation in the final third that we're crying out for and if they can produce this then we have a good chance of not getting stuck in this league forever with the salary cap.
It's ironic that we spent so long in a league where every other team seemed to have years of parachute payments and no one cared about teams like ours who couldn't afford (owner wouldn't afford), to spend on players.
Now we're seen as a reasonably well off team in this league, the salary cap makes it impossible to benefit from being better off than many.
Team needs to be aware that the season could end at any time, there's no guarantee it doesn't finish early and we need to treat and play every game like it could be the last chance to improve our league position, learn from last year.
