They have overlooked all of Godfrey's assists

I've missed these stories. Not sure what Matusiwa did to miss out though.

if they can't spell davis, they'd have no chance with matusiwa!

How does Matusiwa not get in there? He's probably too good to be considered for a Championship team of the week. Fantastic player. Fantastic.

Am I remembering wrong or don't they put a manager in there anymore?

Is 4-4-2 still a thing?

Listening to Talking Town podcast's review of the game I found myself screaming with frustration at one of the chaps bemoaning Hirst's impact and his talents as a striker. First of all he was brilliant, doing what a striker like he needs to do - pressing, acting as a target man, laying off, running behind and harassing their defence. Oh and he scored a goal. Too many 'commentators' think that a striker is solely there to tap in goals - but life is different from the 1990s !
I personally think that Hirst should have started more games for Town last season (when fit). At Brentford away he was excellent for example. And he offered something more all-rounded than Delap. And did wonder, given the scarcity of decent strikers, whether one of the newly promoted teams or lower PL teams might have put a cheeky bid in for him. Our luck that no one did.

I actually don't mind if Matusiwa goes under the radar.... We all know what a massive player he is for us.... Got the quads of an Olympic speed skater, too..... Beast of a player.

Town1Inter0:

Im 100%behind your views on Hirst. He's vastly underestimated by a good number of Town fans. Some tw @ on IG actually accused him of being " lazy"!!That's the very last thing Hirst is.

Hirst's interplay makes the forward line tick. He had a phenomenal understanding with Chaplin, Burns and Broadhead, and like you I was screaming at McKenna to at least try it in the PL when defenders had sussed Delap.

I do want Hirst to start scoring more goals fir himself. He's got it in him, hes understandably short on confidence given he spent most of last season (once fit) being benched. I was afraid he'd leave us this summer, frankly!

Davis & Furlong getting recognised for performances that often go unrecognised is as pleasing as it is surprising.
Davis should have extra 2 assists to his name for runs that had far more bearing on the goals scored than a lot of players do from giving the final pass.

Town1 inter0 Other than scorde the goal, Hirst did nothing again in Friday. I like Hirst, but hes been poor so far this season. Hopefully the goal will be a kick start to his season tho.

Whenever I've seen GH in the past, his hold up play has been good ( better than Delap's was ), but his touch seems to have deserted him at times so far this season. Probably nothing that another goal or two won't put right. One things for sure though, lazy he isn't!

blues 1. I don't think you saw the same game as me. ;-)
(As for the games before - yes, mainly agree).
