Phil - cheeky, but can you pin?? I know a fair few of us are interested in chatting about this as well as ITFC.

To kick start - series predictions?

I am going Australia 2-3 England.

Got up to watch an hour or so before work, wish I hadn't bothered. Malan apart, some pretty weak dismissals. Bairstow playing strangely too. Think they're all brainfried already.

Think "brainfried" summarises it superbly!

Fear in their hearts too when going in to bat.

Make the first 2 & half days even more frustrating.

As much as anything else, losing having come back into it might help the mentality ahead of the next Test. Is it Perth next? Fortunately not the WACA any longer though.

Pretty sure it is at the WACA (unfortunately), isn't it the last test at the great old venue?
Edit
Looks as though it might still a few tests in the future, but last time England will play there, from wiki.

'From the 2018/19 summer, the WACA Ground will cease to serve as the primary international cricket venue in Perth. The new 60,000 seat stadium being constructed in Burswood will host limited overs internationals, Test matches against high-drawing opponents (England, India and South Africa), and domestic Big Bash League (BBL) matches for Perth Scorchers. The WACA Ground will continue to host Tests against lower-drawing opponents, Sheffield Shield matches, and will be redeveloped into the state's leading cricket training facility.[20]'

If we could somehow avoid defeat here (still a big ask), the entire series momentum would change.

The opening session tonight could not be more important. I will definitely stay up for it tonight

Early wickets would be enormous for us

You keep referring to a draw, no chance of that with two days to go. Australia strong favourites to win, slight outside chance of England, but no chance of a draw, too much time left in the game.

Little chance of a draw now I agree

When I posted about the draw, England were batting and still had two wickets left to be fair

Glad we had a good final session at least, needed that for morale if nothing else. If - and it's a big if - we can run through them and leave a chase of under 320 then it gives us a very small chance but we'd need to bat way better than we've managed to in our three previous innings and someone would need to make a big century. That kind of target poses problems for the Aussies as too attacking a field could lead to runs being leaked quickly and the game getting away from them, but they can't be too defensive either with so much time left in the game for that kind of chase.

Decent start from us today but that lead is looking too big - it'll be at least 350. We're stuck between not losing runs and needing to take wickets.

We need quick wickets so we can make some progress in good batting conditions.

Hello TLA, thought I was the only one up!

Just the 2 down so far this a.m. (Jimmy), incl a brilliant 1-handed catch by Broad? was it? but from what TMS are saying, we've really had no luck at all - "Aus have developed a new speciality, ie playing and missing , with the emphasis on *and missing* "!

Morning Ryorry - I really shouldn't be watching today as I'll be at work from 7:30 - midnight. I can't help myself though!

The catch by Malan was excellent, as is the bowling in this innings. Woakes is bowling nicely but we need 4 wickets for about 40 runs just to have a tiny chance. We really haven't had the luck so far - Jimmy's bowled well enough to have about 15 wickets!

Another for Woakes, Paine caught by Overton, Aus 90/7!

I need to get to bed too :(

It was a good catch by Overton - he's had a decent game.

I thought we'd see Rommy tonight.

Good bowling that.

I don't think we'll get 350 but we have a chance, albeit very slim.

Cook and Root need to come to the party...

Great to see England show a bit of fight with that bowling display. 354 I fear is far too many to chase down as the damage had been done in the first few days. How many do you think England will get?

Definitely, both Cook and Stonemen are playing positively but being watchful as well. It seems one of those wickets if you are in, you can capitalise. I never mind losing as long as you put up a fight, this is much more encouraging!

Still a huge ask, but a massive momentum shift to knock them out. Come on England !!!

The fifty is up!

I'm under no illusions that we can do this but being in the match at all is ridiculous given where we were.

I hate having to go to work now!

Cook out LBW to Lyon

That had been coming in fairness.

Lyon seems the bowler we have to worry about most, he is making things happen and we have a number of left handers in our batting line up. Would love to see Vince and Stoneman put on a good partnership.
