25th of January.

But just have it for lunch one day. Burn's Night demands whisky and poetry as well ... you might overdose.

Nope. I've got it covered.

I can buy whisky, and book Dols for the night.

We're in.

I enjoy a bowl of porridge but why do I feel really hungry again within a couple of hours even after a big bowl

How do you make it? What oats do you use? What liquid? What do you add to it?

Truly impaired.

Damn you've even given me recommendations.

Ok, ok I get it.

I'll try your heathen food.

And get back to you on the result.

When's that Burns chap's night? That would seem the appropriate time to make the effort.

Get a haggis Shepard's pie in your rotation jeera, peppery, buttery neeps on top...absolute winner. The rabbit was lovely as well, cooked it till it fell apart and tossed it and the reduced sauce through some tagliatelle... thoroughly recommend

Even if he told you clearly how to make it, you'd still spoil it somehow.

I would take it to work with me in a flask for a time. Grab a piece of toast on the way out the door and take steaming hot porridge with me for a little later.

As a kid we used to have it with Carnation milk swirled over the top.

None of this salt and water stuff!

Cholesterol is in 2 flavours I believe....

Good one, which is, well, good. Porridge encourages the growth of good cholesterol apparently

Bad, or norty, cholesterol.....

This one will kill you dead, and as such is discouraged by the medical fraternity

I am lead to believe that porridge lowers the something of the norty cholesterol....

But porridge still tastes like hot wall paper paste.

And that's a big "No Thank You" to added Haggis

Made with water and a smidgeon of salt, with a pond of golden syrup in the middle to stir in, it's the food of the gods in kilts (no knickers) that will keep you going all day owing to slow release energy from the wholegrains - and boost your immune system, gut and general health.

This is the first post of Ryorry's that I have ever down-voted.

HDL is the good one.

LDL is the 'bad' one but according to some there are two types of LDL cholesterol. 'Big fluffy' LDL which is good and 'small dense' LDL which causes problems. I've mainly heard this from the low carb world and have never actually put the time in to verify it. Studies shows both HDL and LDL goes up on a low carb diet so they'd have a vested interest in claiming this but it might be true.

Truly impaired.

Bacon sandwich for me. Porridge always upsets my tummy. So does Bran Flakes to be fair.

I quite like cornflakes with hot milk as well.
