Any Boiler engineers here? 12:17 - Feb 7 with 4145 views | Ipswich_Crazy | Our central heating won't turn on but the hot water is working fine. Both run form the same boiler. Any ideas?

Any Boiler engineers here? on 12:21 - Feb 7 with 4116 views | SaleAway | So - Have you fiddled with the thermostat... is it definitely requesting the boiler to provide heat? If so, then its likely to be the diverter valve or the central heating pump. ( assuming you have a combi boiler and that it generates new hot water, rather than you just getting some hot water from the tank that has been hot since before the boiler broke).

Yes. | |

Any Boiler engineers here? on 12:25 - Feb 7 with 4097 views | BlueStreak | I had this two weeks ago. One of the boards had gone in the boiler. An engineering took about half an hour to fix and is working fine now.

Yes, nothing happens but the hot water is fine The pump doesnt even turn on when i turn the heating stat up, i hear it tick but nothing from the pump or boiler but hot water works ok on boiler [Post edited 7 Feb 2018 12:26]

Any Boiler engineers here? on 13:10 - Feb 7 with 3958 views | Bent_double | Is there enough pressure in the system? We have a combi boiler and every so often the pressure drops sufficiently to prevent the boiler firing up, but it displays an error code when that happens, and it's just a case of opening up the valves on the boiler for a few seconds to top up the system.

must be your pump.in the old systems the pump circulated the water in the central heating, and your domestic hot water worked by hot water rises.that could mean your boiler is ok but your pump is knackered

Any Boiler engineers here? on 13:37 - Feb 7 with 3892 views | ITFC_Forever | We had the opposite a couple of weeks ago.... no hot water, but we had heating. Turned out the diverter valve was broken and stuck so it needed to be replaced.

It will be the diverter valve actuator faulty or the pcb not telling the actuator to move. Best to get a recommended gas safe engineer. No quick fix unfortunately

Had a plumber out for same problem this morning, the motorised valve had gone. Replaced the head, no draining down necessary, quick job. I've no idea if you would have a motorised valve on a back boiler system though... If you do have a motorised valve you can push the lever across the top of it manually, I'm no expert but if it springs back then the actual valve I believe should be ok. This was the case with mine.

Any Boiler engineers here? on 14:54 - Feb 7 with 3720 views | franco | Once you have ask for demand for your heating , ie room thermostat and programmer , the 3- port valve should power across and the pump should kick in and your back boiler will fire up and give you central heating , if you’ve asked for that . So I reckon it’s your 3-port valve that is faulty and stuck on hot water and the micro switch won’t let it power across and give you c/h , ps mick out !!
