That is exactly right. We were totally outplayed by Arsenal that day, and that appeared to knock the stuffing out of us for the Scum game. I wonder whether the poster who said we bottled it saw that team play on many occasions? | | | |

We didn’t bottle it we simply ran out of fit players. Thijssen has been injured for several weeks before playing in the UEFA Cup Final. He scored two goals across the two legs which made all the difference. |  |

Using only 16 player certainly helped "knit" the team together and they were 16 very good players, but having maybe 20 might well have made the difference. We could have won the treble that year, how good would that have been? |  |
