Hurst/Shrews 2017/2018 13:49 - Sep 5 with 12729 viewsFrimleyBlue

Took a look at Shrews figures for last season, taking away the obvious winning rate which quite rightly took them to third place.
For example,

Average shots per match - 8.43
Average Shots on Target - 3.98
Average goals scored per game 2.12

32.7% Fixtures finished with just 1 goal scored by Shrews
20% Fixtures were won 1-0
18.4 % 1-1

Link, https://footystats.org/clubs/england/shrewsbury-town-fc

For me, if accurate figures, they are relatively low numbers and such figures in this league imo won't lead to success.

https://footystats.org/clubs/england/ipswich-town-fc

Again, these figures may be inaccurate, however, for me, showing an average of 12 shots per game, isn't enough. With just an average of 4 shots on target a game

There is of course the fact the season is new. However it will be interesting to look at these around December time.

I'm looking at it in the sense that you are sitting in a massive glass house and relentlessly throwing stones at it to the point where there's actually now no glass left.

Is this not an ITFC football forum then?

Yeah, but plenty of people come on here who don't come to games, or watch games and still spout rubbish constantly from an uninformed position so no real difference

Do you have a Frimley Green forum where I can post complete and utter drivel without actually having seen your team play?

Or do you think that would be completely unfair for me to do so?

Must look at the TWTD rules to find out what we are and aren't allowed to discuss.

I'd be concerned if I was a Frimley fan that the powers that be are spending most of the time dissecting another clubs stats, rather than concentrating on their own teams shortcomings...

I've said before, I don't go and watch rarely... so i'll never comment on actual games, or individual performances of players.

However I shall share my views based on match stats, discussions with fellow blues etc which is what this forum is for.

They'll be fine as I recently financially secured the club for years to come, so even when I'm gone, the clubs safe. That's always been my plan :)

As will I. Frimley Green look incredibly dull to watch based on their stats.

Trying to hold a team of painters and decorators to a 0-0, whilst you'd moan about Hurst doing the same against a team that had spent £10m on a player who couldn't get on their bench.

That's good to see, given that your opening match of the season saw a 25% reduction in attendance than last seasons average.

Is it the negative football keeping them away?

Oh Trust at the moment, we're boring as fk.

And if we don't start scoring as like town, it's gonna be a difficult season. Haven't said anything different.

I'd like to know whether 50% of his starting line-up are Frimley born and bred and came through the academy.

Then it would be time for me as chair to move on. My job was to take the club out of the difficult place it was and look to help it. I've done that. they'll prob be a time where someone with some more £ needs to come in to give it the boost it needs.

Nah, attendences at level all depends on who's playing around you. We have pretty much 8 clubs in close proximity to ours including the likes of Harltey, Aldershot, Farnborough let alone those in the same league, Ash, Bagshot, Cove etc, We all pretty much share fans at this level.
