Potentailly. The point was, the Govt were previously denying it was possible.

That is obviously stupid but short of some remainer dreaming it makes very little difference. The only way it gets overturned is with a referendum.

Indeed. It would be nice to have politicians who would be prepared to commit career suicide in the rare instance that their convictions demanded it though.

This challenge is one that I hope holds legs, its not just about the withdrawal from the EU that bothers me about this, in fact its quite insignificant compared to the glaringly obvious issue that such destructive corrupt democracy was swept under the carpet. I will say this, the corrupt democracy was on both sides for that campaign, and we should not be comfortable that we have such deep corruption influencing our politics, and the politicians are being so flippant about it.

If our elected representatives agree that the deal agreed with the EU is worse than no deal, and that no deal is worse than staying in, it is still possible that we won't leave.

Indeed. I can see an inevitability in the way this is playing out. It'll be easy to vote against May's deal in parliament and then it'll be easy to make the case that no deal is an absolutely terrible idea.

That would be the real cliff edge scenario Leavers have always said we can avoid but it will be the only type of Brexit available then. And I'm sure polls at this time would also show that a no-deal Brexit is unacceptable to a majority of the population too.

Before any more referenda the government shuold publish, all the legal & economic advice it has receieved. So many like farmers are now finding this is a path to financial ruin.
Should the government be allowed to let that happen?
Should the electorate not be better informed?
Is that wrong?

You just don't get it do you. Project fear, just plain scaremongering , lead to a Brexit vote. Every argument agsinst leaving was exaggerated try that again and a second referendum will leave the country even more divided.

If you say there was no project fear that everything we were warned about was true can you not see that it will be seen as proof that things will be better outside. Thst we have the resilience to come through a hard Brexit.

It would have been once. There was a time when if you were found blatantly lying, you'd have been removed from your role. But these days they can lie with impunity.

Wishful thinking. Simply isn't going to happen.

Referendum 2.0 is the only way out of this for politicians.
