I believe this is the most racist thing ever said by a British news presenter on television. It will be interesting to see if the equality laws which now exist in this country serve to protect people of all perceived races, and not just ones of political advantage.
Why is it racist?
I’ve been thinking about this.
It was a statement of fact in so far as his view was concerned.
Where is the racism - treating whites less favourably on account of race?
Is he meaning only whites riot? Or that only whites voted Brexit?
Making a reference about race isn’t always racist. We have become so fearful of this.
It was an unecessary comment but wasn't racist, it was purely an observation. The fact that the people who defend the comments of Tommy Robinson are the same people getting upset at Jon Snow is ridiculous.
If I looked at Bentley village green and said " I've never seen so much grass in my life", is that offensive to grass?

It's an observation. Just saying it how it is.
That analogy only works when you remove all context. Don't get me wrong, some light virtue signalling doesn't offend me but there was clearly some intent behind his comment. If you think it was a simple observation you are trying too hard to remove the context.
Again, not offended but think it's clear what he meant.

Although he might be trying to keep that secret and now we know what he needs all that compost for and why he keeps his butts full. Never tells us about his stock of 500 watt light bulbs though...

Like I said, it was a silly thing to say and probably was a pointer to the lack of diversity in the crowd ( which doesn't matter either way to me, what colour the protestors were), but equally it wasn't a racist comment. My main point though is the irony of the fact that the Yaxley Lennon followers are the ones getting upset at it when Yaxley himself says much worse on a regular basis but is defended by those same people as " just saying it like it is"

Still i wont argue with you or your ilk.
Enjoy your day.

It's all about context Benters. What he said was stoopid but it wasn't racist.
Racist - "a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of OTHER races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another"
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.

Do you mean like when other people say Leftie bummers and get away with it,yet when I say leftie bummers I get reported for abuse?
