Just as you have dyed in the wool Labour voters who will only vote Labour. Not that I'm advocating No Deal. But based on party policy we have 34% No Deal Brexit 22% Labour's unicorn Brexit 15% Mays deal Brexit Some form of Brexit 71% VS 25% Remain |
Except that the Labour party MEPs have all come out clearly stating they want a second referendum haven't they which then changes it to: 34% no deal, 15% May's deal and 47% second referendum/remain. Aren't the Greens remain too? 49% some form of Brexit vs 51% remain/second referendum. Then and when you factor in most of the Conservative party do not want May's deal you really should re-allocate their vote 3 ways, so 39% No deal, 5% May's deal, 56% remain/second vote. Funny what you can do with statistics if you want to really, isn't it?

People who still believe Labour will offer a second referendum are deluded. They have said they will only offer a second referendum on May's deal. If they win power they will negotiate their own deal and not offer a second referendum. The leadership has stated this on numerous occasions.

Blimey! on 17:59 - Apr 17 by m14_blue | Well it was tongue in cheek really but I think it’s fair to assume that anyone who’s maniac enough to want no deal is almost certain to vote UKIP or Chairman Nige. That’s 34%, nothing like what the no deal proponents would have us believe. |
Wait and see, you remoaners are going to be proved wrong when you say leavers have changed their minds. Wishful thinking on your parts.

But this is a vote the Labour MEPs not for the national party isn't it? I really don't get why local elections are fought by the national parties. I never vote the same way, the issues are completely different. It says something about the electorate that national party politics is projected onto the local and EU elections.

I don’t think many leavers have changed their minds (although two of the most rational and thoughtful on here have done exactly that). Most people are so entrenched now that they would never accept they were wrong as they would lose face, even if its becoming increasingly obvious by the day that they’ve been duped.

People were recently reading an awful lot into just 6 million people clicking on a petition to revoke article 50, despite that being 10 million less than the number of people who got off their backsides and went to the polling booths to cast their vote to remain a member of the EU. I don't think it's unreasonable to read anything other than this being a disaster for the remain camp and remain parties if this poll holds up at the election.

Your post is more in line with the recent Sir John Curtice poll (which used a larger sample size) that found 55% Remain to 45% Leave now. But the only real test of how people feel is a second referendum.

I'm advocating a NWO Brexit. It's the only one worth it's salt. Sooner or later this will be the outcome. May take 10 more years but it will happen.

Ditto. It’s all gone way beyond the actual issue, thoroughly tribal and well into the ‘we’ll show them’ territory. What’s most depressing is that I would wager a very high percentage of those people following Farage have not in any way been affected directly and negatively by our membership of the EU. But he knows how to play a crowd. Always has done and that’s why the establishment hate him.
