At the EU elections and the GE the majority of the popular vote went to parties supporting remain or a second referendum. It's moot because in our antiqued Ted system the Tories have a big majority with well under 50% of the vote, but let's not make stuff up about leave 'winning' in the recent elections.

So you still want to change the voting systems so that you can win Herbie? Remember those on here said so many have died they now should rerun the referendum, very nice people.

I think we should have proportional representation and have done since long before this election. I also think we should have had a second referendum rather than a GE as we now have a Tory party in power on a wafer thin manifesto solely on the back of hoovering up the leave vote. Holding a GE on the back of a single issue is ridiculous really and the outcome is quite worrying for the future of our country in my opinion But in any case nothing you've said refutes my post. Thanks for that Roger Irrelevant. What about the OP relates to Brexit or the recent election? IDS is an awful politician who shouldn't be getting an honour like this. Pretty simple really.

Much like Zac Goldsmith being made a life peer and keeping a cabinet job despite being fecking hopeless, largely horrible, and unable to hold on to his seat in an election his party won handsomely. Good old democracy.

Good effort, but he’s an example of many things that are wrong with society today. In fairness much of it is not his fault but simply due to the privilege he was born into, and he did some interesting and commendable things earlier in his life. But his tax avoidance and dog-whistling racism say a lot about his true character.

Sir Iain Duncan Smith on 22:20 - Dec 28 with 710 views | jas0999 | Far too many inept politicians being rewarded for incompetence - on all sides of the house. A shock to some, but Labour are little better in my opinion. No doubt some would be celebrating if we heard the words Sir Jeremy Corbyn. To be clear ... NONE of them deserve these awards.
