The fascists are finding their voice again. 38175 (local edition) 08:37 - Jan 30 with 35916 views | monytowbray | https://www.instagram.com/p/B76d5hQgPnu/ Friend found this sticker on a lamp post in town yesterday and rightly ripped it down. Apparently some others saying “It’s okay to be white” have been spotted too. I’m sure this has nothing to do with the fact Brexit is coming up and we’ve just voted in a PM who has a history of unapologetic racist and homophobic comments :S

Imagine coming into a thread about an alt right group sticking up transphobic racist nonsense up in your local town and your only input being having a pop at me? I mean, as I said to Lowhouse, if you wanna die on that hill..

'after all, these angry white bigots DO all look remarkably similar, don't they?' Succinct description of Callis.

https://www.indy100.com/article/donald-trump-muslim-majority-travel-ban-list-ear - Identification of enemies as a unifying cause - Powerful and continuing nationalism These two certainly fit the bill. First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me. The parallels are there, but the most offensive thing in this thread is me calling intolerance fascism of course :S

The fascists are finding their voice again. 38175 (local edition) on 13:53 - Jan 30 by DanTheMan | This thread is both hilarious and sad. A pretty obvious hate group posting stickers up hating on basically everyone who isn't white: Calling them fascists: Nobody actually really went into trouble to look beyond the one sticker callis originally posted, and instead had a semantic argument about what a true fascist is. |
Would it not have been better to post a sticker of them being fascist in the op for calling them out as fascist rather than one about gender and relying on other posters to look deeper into them through social media platforms they haven’t heard of?

Meh, I'm bored of arguing about semantics. I didn't post this because of that reason. Sad not many people are interested in speaking up against it. That's my conclusion.

We've already covered the transphobia angle and the links though. I mean, if pedantics is the most important issue here then you go for it TWTD. I've shared it, it's not my job to force people to care about the actual problem I guess.

The fascists are finding their voice again. 38175 (local edition) on 13:25 - Jan 30 by monytowbray | It was his posting history as I said that led me to that conclusion. I even gave examples at the time. Lowhouse just prefers his narrative a few years later of pretending it's lazy name calling. |
My post wasn't specifically about lowhouse and was referring to the general case. You honestly don't think it's counterproductive to call Labour supporters who aren't fully onboard with the current paradigms Tory-lite, Red-Tories or simply Tories? If we bring it back to lowhouse, he has stated he is historically a Labour supporter, how does calling him a Tory help Labours cause? If you want to get policies enacted you need the vote of people like him. SB Edit: I understand this point is tangential to the OP so no worries if you won't want to go into it in this thread. Perhaps if you didn't feel the need to make it personal it wouldn't? Just a thought. I've told you before, you're welcome to my therapy notes if you want to know more about me, because your passing assessments on a message board make you look ill-informed and ignorant. You think calling someone a Tory when the very last thing that they would be is a Tory is not personal? You get chinned in retaliation and mount the highest equine you can find.

I feel if this is your stance you really should consider how you've gone about your last few interactions you've had with me on here in recent weeks. Telling people who are just coming out of a rather long and traumatic bout of depression in life about what MH issues you've diagnosed them with on a forum probably comes under an umbrella far worse than me calling Lowhouse a closet Tory.

Again, if that's the hill you want to die on that's on you. I think I'm happy calling out intolerance and a few "centralists" being bothered about the word used to describe them.

i'm extremely bothered about political language. if you use the wrong words it dumbs down political discussion, suggests that you don't understand key distinctions of meaning, and creates an air of hysteria in which the easiest thing for people to do is dismiss you along with the people you attack. if you quite rightly want to call out racists bigots and extremists then calm reason and precise language must be your friends.

You seem to think being tolerant also covers being tolerant to those who are intolerant, which would be your first mistake. You're verging on reverse racism territory here and still haven't said much about the actual OP in regards to your views which is worrying. If you're concerned I may haveHPD in your view then perhaps you should stop making things so personal? Just a thought. Although in all honesty based on the posts I've seen of yours I'm not to bothered about your opinion of me which contradicts your diagnosis. I believe I've said to you before Strummer would roll in his grave knowing the words you punch into this online forum are next to his record cover.

I don't think it's unreasonable to call fascists, err, fascists. Or do I need to wait for them to go full Nazi and start exterminating entire races before it's okay to call them that? I think you're focusing on the wrong issue here personally, but there you go. As I said, I have no issue.

More confliction, decrying personal attack yet following it up with a personal attack, an insult towards you is far more insulting than any offered by you isn't it? All animals are equal blah blah blah. I don't really feel the need to show conspicuous condemnation, but if it makes you feel good about yourself who am I to argue?
