Front three a bit unbalanced and either The Beat or Butch will have to be LB but..

Whilst I wholly support your team... as Mills Captained Engand at left back surely Osman drops out for a centre back pairing of Butcher & Beattie with Dyer slipping in at right back?
Or does he not count as England caps not earned at Ipswich? If so please excuse my interloping...

1: A bit left field, but after years of debate about whether Gerrard and Lampard could play together, the answer for a short time was - yes they can - with Hargreaves as holding mid behind them. The idea of him tucking in behind Charlton and Gazza to free them up is for me perfect.
2: Forget Rooney, he was/is a flat track bully. Kane has scored a goal every 126 minutes in England colours, Rooney scores less than a goal every two games. The only player close to Kane for that level of scoring is Greaves who is on the bench - mainly due to me only knowing Greavesy as an incoherent loon on 80s soccer coverage rather than a prolific player.
3: Barnes on this list because he was my favourite player during the late 80s and for the virtue of scoring England's greatest ever goal

Certainly not for me to question Sir Bob and Hoddle was included in the '86 set up.
Like many top players he did struggle with injuries didn't he.
Maybe that explains the later omission? I don't know.
I do know Hoddle had the ability to set any pitch alight though.
Hoddle was a truly wonderful player and I was lucky enough to see him play on a number of occasions. I think it may have been a case of how he fitted in the team against other players at the time. I’d love to have seen a team built around him at a young age, but despite 53 caps he seemed to just flit in and out of the team.

I was only thinking in terms of those that played for England whilst at ITFC but actually I had forgotten about Dyer.
I think that eleven that I named plus David Johnson were the only one's that made full appearances whilst at ITFC and it was convenient that they (sort of)fit into a system although not sure that Mariner, Crawford and Whymark together works.

Beckham and Ashley Cole wingbacks, Rooney despite not really showing his best for England after he was 18, I think fully fit and with good players would do well

Pecker you maniac!
There is no room for Clemence in any England team.
Best England Goalkeeper I saw. Yes he made errors, name any player that hasn't, but what a keeper. One of the reasons Liverpool were so dominant back then. There are no right or wrongs, just peoples differing opinions. Banks would probably be most peoples choice, but I never saw that much of him.

I would humbly disagree.
The reason why Clemence didn't let many goals in at club level was because of their brilliant defence, at International level he had some howlers.
Shilton all the way for me - followed by Seaman
I was just too young to remember Banks in full.
