Protests and even more swearing at Lambert at full time 18:07 - Feb 29 with 9124 viewsMullet

Drowned out by people applauding the team off at the other end. Weirdest full time I can remember for ages. It’s about to go toxic again isn’t it?

Being devil’s advocate, would ME shop for someone more experienced? Would NJ’s stint at Stoke put ME off?

Didn't put him off Lambert.

Both him and the players have had a free pass for too long.

They got away with it last season, we sang and supported all season long, even after we went down, we bought out season tickets in numbers to give the club the chance to succeed.... their part of the deal was the results this season

19 points in 19 games is not moon on a stick, that is a very patient set of fans ... For a team with one of the biggest budgets in the division.

What other team with one of the top 3 budgets in any division, would get away with this dross and set of results?.. There would have been change made many games ago.

Very little booing at full time, but as expected some frustration aimed at Lambert. Players have a good effort today, but confidence is low, especially final third.

Despite the set back today we can still make the playoffs.

We can but probably won’t. That’s the point.

Lambert has plenty of experience, it won't happen anyway, I was all for Hurst at the time, he ticked a lot of boxes too, don't bring me a good General, bring me a lucky one..

Sunderland got 85 points and lost 5 games all season. We’ve lost 5 in the last 7.

Oh cool. Did they get promoted then?

So Lambert has chosen to start building a team a year into his tenure?

Is it 27 now? Thought it was 19 or 22 before this match?

Yes today counted as 5 matches 🤣

Nope, but they were competing for it, we are hobbling to a mid table finish. Slight difference there.

Lambert is a contributing factor of course but Evans us the only constant in our decline, he's the one anger should be directed at. As previous posts have said, we are still paying for previous seasons of consistently wrong decisions by the owner which there only so much Lambert can do about.

I don’t think it’s a choice. ME is rubbish at running a football club, Lambert appears to be rubbish at managing one. I almost feel sorry for both of them, as it’s obviously not by choice. They want to do well, just don’t know how to make that happen.

Yes, it seems that way and the biggest losers are going to be the fans.
I really don't get our ridiculous behaviour.
Some sections of our fans want the moon on a stick.

The last sentence of this post just about sums up the ambitions and direction of this club.

It already is toxic.

Fcuk knows why people are applauding the players after defeats at the moment.

A gallant defeat like Anfield 1992 excepted, I can't remember doing it. Maybe the play-off defeats but certainly not much else.
