I thought that was funny, but I also know Der Untergang, the film that this clip is taken from is one of the most powerful films made about WW2. A German made film about Hitler's last days based on interview transcripts of the people who had worked and lived down there. I know all about that, knowing my history doesn't give me a sense of humour bypass.

The fact that 7 or 8 people didn't immediately see it as a joke (votes & posts) suggests that it's not as straightforward as a few of you seem to think.
I hadn't previously seen the meme or anything like it. However, leaving aside my personal feelings on that, if 7 or 8 of us members here "took the subject header the wrong way", given that this is a public forum which anyone can read, what kind of impression does it leave on any casual visitors to the site also not "in the know"? A good impression of ITFC & TWTD? Phil asks every member on here to report anything they consider out of order. I did so. The rest is up to him, & I really couldn't give a cabbage stalk on a compost heap what the rest of you think.

At the time I first posted, 6 people had seen it in a negative light and reacted accordingly.

Why not read what I said for once? I repeat - I had never seen it before. And I did not "decide to be offended", I was bloody upset. There was nothing on the still picture or subject header to indicate it was a joke.
I did what Phil has repeatedly asked everyone to do & alerted him. People questioned that, so I steeled myself & stuck my hand up with an honest explanation. Now I'm being attacked for that. Dear me.

Yes, it was that header that was the problem.
I dare say I did get the wrong end of the stick - but you've now pointed out why!! If the OP had left Evans' name out of it, I'd have ignored it, closed the thread & moved on to something more enjoyable, like the football - oh - shucks!
