Has the time come to scrap Brexit? 11:07 - Apr 6 with 3102 viewsKeno

in the great scheme of things it doesn't scheme that important anymore and we could really do without such a minor distraction in the coming months

That's how EU funding is used anyway.

Don't bring facts into a Brexit debate, you know that they upset the notoriously robust and non-PC Brexiteers.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Yeah , the global population and mainland Europe, especially Italy, Spain and France are never going to go straight back to open borders.

The virus has killed any chance of the EU remaining as any sort of institution.

When this is over one of our biggest advantages will not being a part of the EU.

That's not specifically correct.

The UK is part of the procurement agreement until Dec 2020, we joined in 2014. The EU had no choice but to include us.

It was silly not to take part though as you say.

I stand corrected.

My Brexit supporting brother-in-laws father was whining on Facebook that social distancing guidance are in metric rather than British imperial measurements. It’s all a bit depressing at times.

Yes.
It's easily doable within the next 3 months.
We just need an example of what it would be like post-Brexit as regards food and Medicine shortages, lack of money forcing people into debt, closed schools, bankrupt companies etc.
I wonder?

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

The EU showed their class offering us ventilators when they could easily have said you're not part of us, we'll look after our own.

Sadly there will be no reversal. BJ won't allow it.

Being in the EU didn’t exactly help Italy and Spain.

As said, delay yes but not scrap. The 2015 vote has been backed up by the 2020 election though how 'democratic' our voting system is is up for debate. But Brexit should only be scrapped if the public vote for it to be after what we've gone through already.

Sadly, it’s too late for that. However, when the world gets through Coronavirus it’s going going to be a very different place. Everything from reviewing what is important in a country (e.g. public services in this country, maybe even rejection of the United States of Europe project for the EU, given how it’s been every country for itself over this crisis and indeed migrants before it), relationships with other countries, China etc etc. Who knows, maybe even the smug smile will have been wiped off the face of the Wetherspoons bloke..

Economically, I don’t see ‘no deal’ being on the table with many of the economies of Europe wrecked, including the UKs and if it was my decision, I’d be looking to extend the negotiation time and most importantly relationship building time for a minimum of another year.

..this is an amazing thread, not one post(er) stated that we've already left :-) Like a lot of the remainiacs...totally delusional with no idea about politics or democracy.

Idiots.

We are no longer in it. Reversing or scrapping Brexit would only be possible if you invented a time meachine.
