Dire Straits Bon Jovie Meat Loaf Queen Eric Clapton
I have listened again to all the Dire Straits albums not too long ago. If anything, when I was a teen, I think I under appreciated what a fantastic guitarist and song writer Mark Knopfler was/is.

I've only really listened to Making Movies album and I thought it was brilliant, played it all the time in the Nissan Sunny SSS !!
I gave up with them when Love over Gold came out, It just wasn't the same IMHO
“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”

Love over gold is fantastic, not a track on it is weak IMO. Telegraph Road is a 14 minute masterpiece. It's a song that doesn't get played much on the radio for some reason though.

I love threads like this, it brings back a lot of memories. Interesting to see so many great groups and such a great variety of music. I used to spend hours listening to John Peel. probably too much time instead of revising for my "O levels".
ELO Ramones Blondie.. (up to and including Parallel lines) Elvis Costello The Jam

I think Buzzcocks and Sham would be in my 6 - 10 list along with XTC
The Buzzcocks were closet Mods really, I bumped into Steve Diggle a few years back on a boat going up the Thames watching a Sex Pistols tribute band. It was the same boat that The Pistols played on the Thames in 1977 before getting arrested by the River Filth.
Sham69, what can I say? That's Life album is brilliant.
XTC Swindon's finest, I have a collectable 12" of Science Friction somewhere. That's Life was slated at the time and listening to it now it's a bit cheesy, but to the teenage me it was a favourite - 'Mary I'll have a barcardi and coca cola please, tell her to get me a pint of bitter' . Buzzcocks were sharp dressers and churned out catchy pop songs with ease. Your mod lines are definitely blurred with new wave tastes by the looks of it.

Thinking of another thread, Telegraph Road has a great intro to it too

I don’t remember him being particularly into scooters. Do you still have them?
He’s lived in Dusseldorf a long time now.
I don't think he was very into them or rode them much. None of um were running. Was a complete series3 li, an sx and 2 or 3 frames and engines etc. He was living in London at the time, a friend had told me the shed in his parents house was full of scooter's so we went and asked his father if he wanted to sell um? He called me back a week or so later and we agreed to buy the full shed. We keep all the bits we wanted for ourselves put a couple back together and sold them and the spares we didn't want in scootering

Me and a friend use to trade in um. We bought garage and sheds full of non runners and parts from all over Suffolk and Essex at the time. I doubt I have any parts left, will check next time I'm in England. I heard about 10 years ago that the brother of a friend of mine still as my old fully restored, fully innocenti Gp 200 in his mothers garage
