I think AJ will think twice about the venue of his next fight.

Doesn't make him wrong to say what he said, but he will need to stand by the principles of that speech.

I suspect AJ will recognise that, he's a bright guy.

I’m fairness to whoever posted in regards to Saudi Arabia, I think they have a point.

Seems illogical he is preaching for equality (rightly so) yet will go to one of the most unequal communities in the world and to collect a pay cheque off them.

As you say, will have to think twice next time he selects the backer of his fight.

Unless your black and have endured 1 or many of these injustices then you don't fully understand or have any idea yourself to be honest.

*you're

And your point wasn't about a black person experiencing racism, you were accusing a black person of being racist. As a white person who is a potential target of AJ's alleged 'racism' I am perfectly qualified to laugh at you and point out your ignorance.

I’ve had some experience of AJ who approached a charity I’ve worked for to help us, unsolicited, and on the proviso there was no media. Really unusual. Seemed a lovely and genuine bloke.

I make you right on the Saudi thing though.

The shopping thing is fine.

My point exactly.

Good, so you will agree with me, that the people getting all upset about AJ’s comments are racists.

I'm not as judgemental as you, I think some have made relevant points (even if we don't agree with them), but most of the comments on the FB feed were very much racist.

You do understand that we are on the same page here don't you.

“Judgemental”

I don’t think people can be neutral about racism.

You are simply agreeing with me, by judging me as judgemental, so confirming that you agree with my stance on being discerning.

Glad you are on board with this.

But you know that's got nothing to do with the colour of his skin.

You have nothing else. That's basically all you have to offer - slippery, underhand, nasty and transparent tactics in an attempt to try and label people this, that or the other.

But enough of you, Joshua is a hypocrite and needs calling out.

Abstain from spending your money in their shops and economies he says.

But he has no problem with any of this though does he?

- Bombing one of the poorest countries in the world back to the Dark Ages, leaving at least 100,000 dead and 85,000 infants on the brink of starvation.

- Ambushing a dissident journalist as he arrives at one of your consulates, killing him and chopping up his body–while his fiancé waits outside for him to emerge with a piece of paper allowing them to wed.

- Putting to death pro-democracy protestors, who as teenagers used WhatsApp to organize demonstrations in a part of the country where a minority felt oppressed.

- Locking up people for expressing views peacefully, such as the women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul or the liberal blogger, Raif Badawi.

Not to mention how they treat homosexuals and women.

"Amnesty International stepped up its call for Joshua not to take part in Saturday's fight and urged the boxer to do research into Saudi Arabia's human rights record."

"Joshua, who is expected to receive nearly $80m for fighting Ruiz"

"The kingdom carried out a mass execution of 37 men in April, the majority of whom had been tortured or had signed coerced confessions in detention and were convicted in unfair trials, rights groups say."

Nasty and underhand but also quite up front with my questions after you'd made these assertions then changed your direction? How's that work then? It's not my fault you said stuff before I asked is it?

Can you keep it to less than 2 links and 1 youtube video though please? I'm not sure I can manage being the Michael Palin of irrelevant tangents and you letting the mask slip again.

Changed direction? See it as an addition.

Keep it to less than 2 links and 1 youtube video? You can't handle 1 link let alone all of what i provided which you have proven with your totally hopeless reply where you have convenienlty avoided the point i raised.

Tip - Don't bother replying if you're not going to take on the point that someone raises, it just results in you showing yourself up...again.

But fair play, at least you admitted your nasty and underhand tactics.

I've read a fair amount of this thread, but not all, so apologies if this point is made already.

I think people are missing the point. AJ is one person, making a range of points that he feels are important.

Racial injustice means different things to different people and this is even more evident when looking at proposed changes and solutions.

It doesn't matter whether everything he says is right or wrong, he is a boxer, not a civil rights leader.

He evidently is a hypocrite in relation to civil rights, but that doesn't mean that he has foregone his right to speak about civil rights injustice that he and his racial community experience.

Above all else I question to motives of those fixating on AJ and what he has said, rather than taking the time to put yourself in someone else's shoes and ask - "what is it like to be a racial minority in the United Kingdom today?" Or "How does it feel to experience racial injustice?" Or "Is it appropriate or necessary to have statues of slave traders, when the are so many other great Britons we could celebrate?" - you choose to pick one point, from one person amongst thousands and act like it is somehow deeply significant and more important than the overall message.

More so than that, I wonder what type of abhorrent character is finding themselves on pages like "Yellow Vest UK" that is evidently just a stream of negative propaganda against the BLM movement.
