Even [redacted posters' names] would struggle with this level of conspiracy...

Trump sinks to new depths on 15:28 - Jun 9 by sparks

I havent said its a scanner. He is doing something odd- or appears to be. I am intrigued as to what. I have not exonerated or condoned what happened in any way shape or form, nor suggested that Trump's comments have a shred of substance.

I can see however, where Trump and his loons are getting something to work with here. It looks a bit odd and I am intrigued to know what the bloke was doing. That does not make what happened next any better.

He's passing the guy his helmet back FFS.

Perhaps. His motions are odd- he appeas actively to be putting his phone around the guy's belt. Watch it slowly. Perhaps photographing identifying information, or kit or something?

Intriguing.

He's moving it far to quickly for it to clearly pick up any identifying equipment.

It's clear to anyone who doesn't have an agenda that it is an elderly man with his phone in his hand approaching the police officers to return a helmet then gesticulating to move around him rather than walk directly through him.

Perhaps. That doesnt really follow from the pictures- he is not holding the helmet out, he is holding the phone out around the officer's waist.

Perhaps just remonstrating about something- and purely innocent hand movement, but it does look deliberate. I simply think it would be interesting to know what he was trying to do. Of course, the prospects of ever getting a clear definitive confirmation are perhaps slim.

Could well be. The idea that I have an agenda in respect of trump or police agression is absurd.

"Someone starts poking a phone around my body, I am going to push them away..." Sounds like someone condoning the actions of the police officer to me

You have insinuated that in some way the police's actions were justified and suggested that if you were faced with an elderly gentleman doing similar allegedly dodgy things you would be fine with knocking him to the floor.

Now, this is the bit where you say you haven't done that but every t0sser with a pair of eyes reading the thread can see you have.

No- I have queried what he was doing and repeatedly said that what happened next was disgraceful. Which is why you wont quote.

I can fully udnerstand if people dont see the movement as curious. It may well not be.

He's clearly not doing anything. He's waving his hand around. I have no idea why you're so keen to suggest he was doing something untoward, but anyone watching the video can see you've been suckered in by Trump's guff.

No, I won't directly quote you because the language you've used is suitably open ended enough for you to twist the argument in whatever manner you choose.

Hold up...

"The segment was done by OAN’s Kristian Rouz, who has previously written for the Kremlin-owned outlet Sputnik. The US intelligence community has concluded that Sputnik played a role in Russia’s election interference efforts during the 2016 presidential race.

Rouz did a report last month peddling the theory that the coronavirus pandemic was “a globalist conspiracy to establish sweeping population control” backed by George Soros."

This is interesting re: Rouz and OAN.

As one security researcher puts it: "This completes the merger between Russian state-sponsored propaganda and American conservative media.”

I hadnt spotted the scanning thing before but he is clearly trying to do something around their kit with his phone or a similar device.

I have a little more sympathy for them pushing him away in those circumstances. Though the ignoring him on the ground bit was disgraceful- as was the report that he tripped.

Right, I have watched this video a few times - it very clear what the guy is doing with his phone - he is pointing to something that the right hand policeman has on his belt pack and probably asking him something about it, and then the third guy comes up behind the two front policeman probably telling them to get moving, and then the right hand policeman pushes the guy, not very hard, but once he starts moving backward, his momentum is in the wrong direction, he falls almost straight down backward (as older people tend do when they lose their balance). It would have been very easy for the policemen to walk round him, there was plenty of room, they deliberately chose not to - I can't see any mitigation possible at all for the policemen's actions there..

I dont think you can say it is "very clear", but that is certainly plausible.

I dont say there is any mitigation- it just looks a curious movement to me.

I think people may have (reasonably) misunderstood me as a result of a single post where I said that I would push someone away if they were pushing their phone around that close to me. On reflection, I think I would push their hand away and be irritated- saying I would push them away was a careless overstatement which I am more than happy to retract.

I hasten to add- as I think ought to have been clear throughout- I do not say it is justification for the subseuqent consequences, nor indeed for the sort of push likely to lead to someone falling over- and the blokes age is inevitably a part of that.

Thanks for the clarity, pushing them away is a whole lot different to pushing their hand away, so you can see why people, myself included, saw this as condoning the actions of the police officer.

I still don't agree with you that there is anything curious about the elderly mans movement though but we all think differently and therefore come to our own, differing conclusions.
