WTF is wrong with people? 09:31 - Jun 26 with 8495 viewsStokieBlue

Second night running that police have been attacked trying to disperse and illegal party in London:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jun/26/police-attacked-at-illegal-stree

Why are people acting so selfishly? The parties aren't allowed anyway and will cause issues with other parts of Europe already seeing a rise in cases of C19 and then to attack the police for trying to disperse them is totally unacceptable. There was a quote from the previous night where someone said something along the lines of: "It was all fine until the police started to try and enforce the law". I mean what on earth?

Then you have 500,000 people heading to the beaches in Dorset and once there complaining that people are idiots for crowding the beach whilst totally ignoring the fact they themselves were there to crowd the beach. They then leave tonnes of litter and it looks like they will force the closure of beaches.

Depressing.

That doesn't explain or excuse sh1tting on the floor.

Let he who hasn't stopped their vehicle and had a sh1t next to the side of the road, cast the first stone.

It's disgusting if you didn't clear it up and take it home, why should another person have to clear up your shlt?

By and large people seem to be complete arseholes.

Not for me. The newspapers, social media and TWTD focus on the arseholes. Always have done.

Half a million people are said to have gone to Dorset yesterday. How many of those were genuinely behaving poorly?

(Remember the state of Manchester after 250k Glaswegians went on the p*ss a few years back?)

Eh? I have an alibi - I was enjoying Alton water yesterday and was most definitely not having a sh1t by the side of the road in Dorset.

Happened again in London last night with police attacked for breaking up an illegal music event in Harrow. I see party-goers also managed to set the Liver building on fire in Liverpool:

Regarding the crowds at the beaches, I have a slightly different take on it.

We lockdown families for 13 weeks. We then sort of release the lockdown. Only you can't return to work as the schools aren't open. And you can't take the kids to the theme parks. Or go on holiday. Or go to stay with your old folks. And maybe you don't have a garden. And it's boiling hot. And you've not been more than 10 miles from your home for 3 months...

Where exactly did people imagine people were going to go yesterday? The councils were surprised by the visitors (and the rubbish)?

I'd also add that the expert on Skynews today was clear in what he saw, lots of groups coming in their "bubbles", staying in their bubbles with very little inter mingling on the beach. Very low rates of transmission.

I think everyone jumping on the bandwagon should consider for a minute what it's like with kids, in the heat, with no school, no garden and no prospect of a holiday anytime soon...

*Of course there were examples of general dickheadness - but the vast majority appeared to be well behaved from the pics I saw.

My opening post cited the selfishness of the idiots who travelled hours to get to the beach and then complained that lots of people had travelled to the beach without any sense of self-awareness. Also the litter left behind was disgraceful. It is understandable that people want to get out but after seeing it on one day on the news why would you travel there the next day?

My main point was the parties though, they are totally unacceptable. This isn't kids getting time away from their flat with their parents, it's selfish individuals having parties and then attacking the police. It happened again last night and it needs to be stopped.

No matter how well behaved people are, if there are thousands of people in a small space the risk of transmission increases - it's a simple numbers game.

On a few of your other points:

- Theme parks reopen in a week
- Holidays are looking very likely with Spain added to the non-quarantine list

Perhaps this will make a difference as you imply.

I just don't understand why just Bournemouth was affected to that degree. Haven't really heard reports of that scale of disruption elsewhere.

If you're in Ipswich, you've got Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Southwold, Felixstowe, Walton, Frinton and Clacton all within 60 miles, perhaps Southend and Cromer at a push. The odds of everybody piling down to the same one seems remote, so, why here, especially as like we've said, by day 2, you'd know what it was like.

And another thing, there seems to be certain quarters of the press who are saying that it's all the youngsters acting like this. From what I've seen, it's people of all ages. It seems to be that no matter the age, people are dumb as a box of dirt.

3/4 years ago amid all the brexit b0llocks I said on here that I didn't think there's much to be proud about being British, it sent the gammon collective who were quite dominant on here at the time into absolute meltdown.

What a nation of entitled and ignorant b@stards we are.

It’s worth trying to keep some perspective. The pictures we’re seeing are of a small minority of @rseholes, the vast majority are still doing the right things.
As a wise person once said. “The world has only gone mad when people stop pointing at things and saying the ‘world’s gone mad”

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
