I think this sums up my reaction to it... now they can’t blame immigrants anymore, it’s back to poverty shaming

Eat them raw innit

With the skins on. Don't want to be let the underclass have sharp weapons, even if they are potato peelers.

Somebody hinted at what they might be saying in private about us masses. Given that Annunziata and Jacob both show utter contempt, and their dad pretty much wrote the textbook of how to capitalise from the misfortune of others, their private comments must be pretty grim indeed.

They needed to combine it with Supermarket Sweep. Grab five turkeys and an inflatable coke bottle and see what James Martin can knock up.

Supermarket Sweep was ace, leave it alone.

Anyway, what happened to sparks? He seems to be no longer of this parish?

I loved it. Netflix over here currently has the US version from the 90s. It's missing a dose of the Wintons to be honest.

Bully does seem to have gone. Taking that relegation hard poor fella.

If anyone Tweets, Jack Monroe has a superb thread in response to Annunciation about what poverty is really like.

tl:dr it's not like something you fix by suggesting putting salt on red wine stains or cleaning your sink with bicarb and vinegar.

I caught up with a few of her pieces morning - excellent for context for those of us who haven't had to crawl in a corner and hide from bailiffs.

I wasn't aware of where she'd come from and didn't really know who she was tbh. The only thing I knew her from was her libel case against Hopkins.

Indeed.

Testament to her strength and love for her son to come through all that (but not fully intact as she describes).

This is someone who is intelligent, resourceful and hard-working. But unlucky (as many people will always be) and especially unlucky to be living in austerity Britain.

I haven't even addressed the effect of all this on her son during his crucial early developmental years — or rather what could have been the effect if he didn't have an incredibly special mother.

The number of children living in poverty is set to rise to 5.2 million by 2022 ...

Pronouns: He/Him
