It still boils down to a difference of political views though. My father and step-mother are big Trump fans, but I don't try and get them legally cut out of my life because of it.

I mean, reality is screaming in your face if you choose to see it.
Trump is a pure sociopath, his entire life is littered with lies, misconduct and dodgy deals. F*ck, I've not even dived into the stuff around where his money has come from and gone to.
It's also funny how every single person who has gone after him from the inside has been sacked. Or how multiple tell-all books with independent but collaborating stories are coming out. Or the fact he doesn't have a spare 15 minutes to take a DNA test that would confirm he's innocent of sexual assault. Or the fact he still hasn't given the authorities his tax returns and is actively trying to block access to them via the courts.

Having read some of the daughter's other tweets, she is asking people not to praise her Dad as a hero because he is in The Lincoln Project but instead to judge him on his actions as her Dad, and says that her Mum is to be blamed for only caring about her career and not the welfare of her children.
There's a way of reading the sequence of her tweets which gives the impression that she is alleging abuse by her Dad and neglect by her Mum. Although she uses the term "abuse", she doesn't specify the nature of it, whether emotional, physical or sexual abuse or neglect.
Of course these slightly ambiguous tweets also only present one side of the story.
