I can't see the problem. He disagrees with science. So do people who believe in God and we give them protection ffs.
We should leave them alone and let them enjoy some freedom of speech.
Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

I do see your point.
However, barring a minority of nutjobs, those who adhere to a faith are of no danger to the general public.
Those spouting conspiracy guff about masks, vaccines, lockdowns and the like, undermining public health guidance in the process, are much more of a danger.

Reading the rest of the article, there's certainly a bit of a suggestion that Chloe shares her husband's views:
“I just loved the way Sandy talked” she told this newspaper in 2013.
“I was instantly attracted to his really relaxed manner and we just hit it off straight away. We share a great interest in the way the world works and what makes people tick.”
Mr McFadzean, a financial consultant, said at the time: “One of the features of our relationship is that we have quite clear views on equality and we are a very equal couple.
“We realised really quickly that we wanted to be together.”

Chloe Smith is utterly useless but it's not fair to ascribe tinfoil hattery to her based on some comments from seven years ago.

Chloe Smith is a good egg really.
Really?
Really?
The same Chloe Smith who had her parliamentary credit card suspended not once, not twice, but FOURTEEN times for breaking rules on expenses, and tried to explain it away as an administrative error?
