I only know from Col U fans about their one, but no - they were seen as key players and not disrupters but he just wanted rid of them so they were banished. No real comment to press about it, as doesn't like speaking to the press about anything. |

Your position is that Downes has definitely refused to play, based on your interpretation of remarks that (a) don't definitively say that and (b) are only one side of the story, in any case.
My position is that I'm reserving judgement on whether Downes has refused to play, certainly until someone is prepared to actually state on the record that he has. |

You do need to read between the lines given that there's quite a big difference between saying "that's a question for Flynn" (or words to that effect) and "Flynn has said he won't play". A more literal reading of the former would suggest that they don't know and haven't asked him themselves rather than he has refused to play. So you do need to read between the lines to a fair degree to get to concluding that Downes is refusing to play. [Post edited 16 Sep 2020 14:04]

You do need to read between the lines given that there's quite a big difference between saying "that's a question for Flynn" (or words to that effect) and "Flynn has said he won't play". A more literal reading of the former would suggest that they don't know and haven't asked him themselves rather than he has refused to play. Have a read of what I posted to Joe. It just doesn't make any sense why they would piss off their best and most valuable player for no reason.
If you step back and look at it logically, from everything we know it looks increasingly like the player not wanting to play. I love Flynn as a player and I really want to be wrong on this... but come on, be honest, it really does look like it's him (and his agent) who are at fault.
Bear in mind as well, if this really is Lambert and Taylor telling porkies, they'll be pissing off Flynn's teammates too. What on earth would be the benefit of that? |

But he's given him time off, he's been there himself as a player when things like this happen, he's not thrown him under the bus by any stretch, he's actually empathised to a point.
