How in gods name 18:01 - Sep 15 with 2028 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Can Jackson be worth £2m odd quid? I'd be amazed if we got that for him. I'm genuinely not sure he was worth £1.6m when we bought him, and I just can't see how he could have increased in value. I'm sure he'll come back to bite me in the arse and score a hatful at Brum, but I've seen precious little evidence of that over the last couple of years.

How in gods name on 18:06 - Sep 15 with 2001 views | jayessess | When we bought him, he was a technically very raw but very quick striker, who'd had one good-ish (1 goal in 3) season in League 2. He's now a technically okay very quick striker who's had one good-ish (1 goal in 3) season in League 1. Normal that his value's gone up a touch. [Post edited 15 Sep 2020 18:14]

I feel like sometimes people form an impression of a player and then totally dismiss the idea that they could ever develop their skills. Then they're shocked if they make a success of themselves somewhere else.

No, its bladdy awful. Vardy scored goals for fun in the non league, I see nothing in Jacksons stats that suggests the same?

He scored just over 1 in 3 in the division we play in, which isn't so bad, especially considering the limitations of our attacking play overall.

Exactly, his service is utterly pi$$ poor, you put him in a side that at least provide some service and throw in a dash of confidence which he's totally been without during his time here and you might just see a half decent striker certainly for this level..

I think you have hit the nail on the head. For £1.6m you'd hope to have a decent striker at this level whereas all we have is a player who may become half decent.

We used to have one of those coaches. But we traded him in for for new grounds and Improved Football.

I mean... he did just have a good season at this level, that's why clubs in the division above are interested.

How in gods name on 20:41 - Sep 15 with 1533 views | WD19 | If he was a local lad we would all be furious that Birmingham have put in such a derisory bid. Not a comment on Downes btw. Just a general observation on football fans in general.
How in gods name on 21:07 - Sep 15 with 1456 views | GeoffSentence | looking at it in a very simple way you could say that Ivan Toney was sold for probably around £6m Toney scored 26 goals and contributed 6 assists Jackson scored 11 and added 7 assists, in a pooer performing team. So from a simple point of view it would be reasonable to expect somewhere in the region of half of what Toney was worth. Please note this post is for illustrative purposes only, I am not genuinely proposing that there shoudl be some mathmatical formula based on goals and assists to produce a transfer figure. I do think that Jackson was effective enough for a poor Ipswich team last year to be worth the higher end of the fees that have been bandied about though.
