Ex Town Players without clubs 08:00 - Sep 23 with 5343 viewsBlueandTruesince82

Having seen Tom Adeyemi mentioned in the form, a players whos appearances in a town shirt were so fleeting I'd forgotten about him I thought I'd see what he was up to post Town. He hasn't had a club since leaving us and I wondered how many other player's that came though over the last 5 years or so are now without a club (not counting those who retired)

I have Adeyemi and Cameron Stewart (who had one season with Lincoln after a fear a out having left Us) both signed to much enthusiasm by Mick.

Josh Yorwerth (not sure he really counts given this is due to being sacked in light of his ban).

I'm v curious as to how many hailed signings )esp from Micks era where we took a lot of punts) have fallen through the cracks of the game.

Poll: Will Phil ever confirm we are actually close on a signing ever again

I wonder if Tom Adeyemi’s going to become like Arthur Scargill* and become a recluse after leaving the public eye. Amid all the very welcome interviews that EADT conducted with former Town players during the COVID hiatus, I was surprised no-one tried to get a story from Adeyemi.

*Not such an unlikely comparison. They both had distinctive hairstyles for a start.

Josh Yorwerth is banned until 2022.

Well another Mick signing Alex Henshall, who to be fair had a game-changing second half performance for us away to a very strong Derby side a few years ago, has gone on to play a pittance of games for Blackpool, Kilmarnock, Margate, Braintree, Nuneaton, Darlington, Nuneaton (again) and is now ripping it up for Swindon Supermarine of the Southern League Premier.

He genuinely did look like he had something at Pride Park though.

On a different note, a former player still going strong at the age of 40

I heard he had fallen in with the wrong crowd and was trying to be "gangsta".

Think he’s a soccer coach at a university in the States (or Canada).

...in a similar vein, perennial town target Ben Marshall has been without a (professional) club for ages now.

Adeyemi retired after leaving us.

I didn't know that was official.

Would be an interesting interview to do Phil? Seem to recall he couldve gone to Cambridge Uni.... surely a good candidate to works towards a leadership role in football administration?

Would be interested to know what his plans are.

I did contact his agent over the summer to do something but didn't hear back. I gather he is studying at Cambridge, I think to be a doctor.
