I've never been. As you say, it doesn't really appeal.

Jon Culshaw is on Countdown and he keeps insisting on doing these impersonations.

It's just annoying.

....but to be honest most of them are.

I enjoy it when they have to tell you who they are about to do before they do it.

They should be banned.

Or shot.

Whatever.

To pass comment on well known personalities; by emphasising particular character traits, speech patterns of styles of dress for example. I always thought Mike Yarwood's simple use of a pipe and an offhand delivery was a perfect way of throwing a light on the disarming way that Harold Wilson was able to sell the British people a pup. Peter Cook's portrayal of Harold Macmillan was not only less kindly but also, in hindsight, less fair. However, neither impersonator needed to tell you who they were doing unlike the woeful skits on 'Dead Ringers'.

Culshaw just did an impersonation of Jeremy Vine.

It is why PRP has to keep reminding us that he is a football manager because his impersonation is so bad

Surely you've just got to do a bad impersonation of anyone else?

Samantha has to nip out now with her new gentleman friend. Apparently, they've been helping out at Madame Tussauds. Samantha is in charge of dusting while he scrapes the paint and wax off next to her

Culshaw just did an impersonation of Jeremy Vine.

Did he start by picking up an imaginary telephone and say 'Hello, Jeremy Vine here'?

Never rated John Culshaw he is a poor man's Alistair Macgowan.

Rory Bremner was the best not only did he get the voices spot on more often than not his political satire was great.

Steve Coogan is the best bar none.

End of argument.

RIP Sir Bobby

He is good, but better at creating his own characters than impersonating other people I think. He is good though on the Trip with Rob Brydon who is an underrated impersonator.

The sequence on 'The Trip' where they're impersonating Roger Moore performing Alanis Morrissette is one of the finest bits of telly I've ever seen.

Boris Johnson does a terribly non-convincing version of a Prime Minister.

I rarely watch Countdown but any time I do he always seems to be the dictionary corner guest.

Is that the only job he can get? Similarly is he the only person Countdown can get?

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Makes you wonder.

They do sometimes have some better value personalities on there but often nowadays it's some 'celebrity' doctor or similar.
