I know I'm coming across as against your arguments in this thread, but actually going through with something like that on a personal basis unless thousands, tens of thousands of people are involved, then it will only end in tears.
The idea of a threat of this kind is appropriate, but you also need significant numbers to threaten it. Banks are too big and you'll end up losing the shirt on your back if you don't have sufficient backing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for civil disobedience etc when it comes to global warming, but I just feel this tactic isn't a wise one for activists right now.
How we go about alerting people to the probable unconscious desicions they're making is another question, though.

If you are silly enough to let them in. The chances of them forcing entry are minimal.
Also all debt has different forms depending on who it’s owed to.
I know countless people with debt they’ve never paid, myself included. BW Legal were practically beg me for money because I just laughed at their threats.

Erm, if you read earlier up the thread, I was chased for a £1.80 bus ticket, mate! After all the 'expenses', I had to pay the princely sum of six hundred quid!
I admire all your passion on this, but I think this is an extreme and dangerous action to actually go through with, despite your noble conviction on this and other matters.
The wider conversation on banks' involvement with mining and oil firms etc should be a matter of priority; and this is certainly one way of doing it for attention. But, in reality, I fear many will go down this route seriously, not thinking of the consequences.
Just trying to look out for you and others. Apologies if that seems patronising, but I do honestly care about your wellbeing and that of all other posters, regardless of politics or history.

I agree with this. I don't have the full facts as to what is proposed but if it just withholding repayment that won't affect the ability to create credit for fossil fuel companies. Banks don't lend deposits or repayments, obviously if lots of assets became distressed then that is a different matter but on the scale of a few protestors it is minuscule. |  | | |
