Five home defeats in six ... 10 points from nine ... 10 points off the top two.

In the third tier.

Pretty speechless that this is being allowed to continue. The club is in such massive trouble.

And yet people keep buying match passes and will renew ST's.

Put money into the club = you accept the way it is run.

Boycott the failure of a club and then you will finally see Evans act and get the message that his time is up.

I'm afraid only one of us isn't showing any realism here. We're in League 1. Only a few sides at this level could have brought those two players in on the kind of wages they'll command. People don't understand the finances of this division at all. People moan we don't spend, but the fee we paid for KVY last season would be a record fee for half the sides at this level. Backing of the manager is an issue, but only insofar as Evans has continued to back him when it's clear he's hopeless. Lambert can have no complaints at all about the financial backing he's had from Evans.

Ask yourself the question does Evans pay the debts of the club out of the kindness of his heart? Just reflect on that and you’ll figure it out.... clearly very slowly but you’ll figure it out!!! He takes a healthy return and then ask yourself .... do you have any idea of the return he makes ? .... if you did you wouldn’t make comments that you’d realise were ill informed ... ill advised and frankly just off the mark.... and you argue about pricey loans????

What on Earth are you talking about? Check the accounts for any year, Ipswich Town makes a loss every year and you can't make a "healthy return" on a loss-making business.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say literally any other club in the football league would’ve sacked him long ago at this point.

By now Evans is surely just completely disinterested or has allowed himself to be properly deluded to think things will suddenly turn around.

“Embarrassing” has become a cliche when describing something *bad* in football but there’s no better word for what this joke of a club has become.

I honestly think he knows how poor and unacceptable it is. He's just so tight and disinterested that he won't sack him because he knows it's another £1m down the swanny for something he in reality does give two sh**s about.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

What worried me earlier was Mick Mills speaking out. He's a legend and he made total sense but I wondered who speaks out for the club in the future? Dyer, Bramble and Holland are the only three I can think of from recent times with the respect and willingness to speak out. What happens in 30 years time? We've had some good players and good servants in the last 15 years but none of them hold the same sort of 'authority' as those three and players like Mills, Butcher and Wark. When they speak out it gives me some hope that somehow we get out of this and makes me feel like there's some sort of protection of the club's soul.

It's a bit like the Sky commentator saying Portman Road was "one of the stately homes of English football". It's all rapidly slipping from the collective memory isn't it? Soon we will be completely irrelevant. At the moment we get respect from older fans but anyone under 25 thinks we're just another sh1te club with nothing special about it. Year by year people forget a little more.

Evans hasn't killed the club IMO but he's holding it hostage. He has imprisoned it in a windowless, doorless room with seemingly no way out. Most fans have very little hope left. Evans couldn't have set out to destroy us better if he had actually been trying. We are the frog in the water being slowly boiled and now the pot is well and truly bubbling.

I've used the analogy before, but Marcus Evans to itfc is what Kathy Bates was to James Caan in Misery.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

He did care, I think he absolutely did care and wanted the club to do well.

Whether that's the same as his initial hopes when he first bought the club possibly expecting a return, who knows?

But you'd doubt anyone buys a club expecting to make anything wouldn't you.

I think he's at a loss and obviously has been for some time.

At least when he had McC he felt safer in as much as the club was taking more care of itself. Now he's had to put himself forward more and he's out of his depth, let's face it.

The best thing he could do for all concerned is be active in at least trying to find a replacement. He must know all money will need to be written off, and if his companies are struggling because of Covid, he might find himself in a damage-limitation struggle after a few more years of this.

Let’s get a little realism shall we ?

Two pricey loan signings that cannot get a game in the championship !!! Do me a favour that’s not investment that delivering more losses to deduct more tax !!! When you invest you expect a return !

Doubt he'd benefit in any way from loan signings. It's a cost he'd actually have to pay.
Not a fan of the lack of transparency, convinced he's using loopholes to minimise loss, he's not going to be making money out of the club.
Loans won't give you a sustainable future though, we need to invest in potentially saleable assets instead or we'll continue to slowly rot
