Lambert taking Norwich to tribunal 19:06 - Jan 30 with 1858 viewsstevec7

I seem to remember something about Lambert taking Norwich to a tribunal over unfair dismissal, is this right and would he be a problem for Evans in doing the same?

Didn't he walk out on Norwich to go to Villa?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Was trying to bag £2m out of them despite walking out to a better club with better pay. Settled out of court in the end.

He's a disgusting little bstard.

More evidence to suggest we are stuck with him for the duration of the contract.

So, he walked out on them AND sued for a payoff? Classy.

I don’t think PL has a leg to stand on for unfair dismissal here, the facts speak for themselves surely? However, I’m no legal mastermind so don’t get excited.

To be fair, at the time, plenty of us were quite amused by that.

Truly impaired.

Surely every manager who ever got the sack would be trying for 'unfair dismissal'? Weird one.

In his case, any tribunal would say, 'Well mate, to be fair , you were sh!t.'

Well, that very much depends on what Marcus Evans expects of him. If it is a case of plateauing at 11th position in the Third Division, then he's working to his brief.

Very true Gainsboroughblue, see I said I was no legal mastermind.

Unfair dismissal is a bit of a red herring because Lambert presumably has a fixed term contract, so in simple terms if Evans terminates that contract without good cause (and a string of bad results wouldn’t suffice). Lambert is due compensation broadly based around the remainder of his contract. That would dwarf what he would get on an unfair dismissal claim.

I doubt anyone on this forum and even fewer within the club know the terms of the extended contract PL was offered and accepted last year. However and to some extend wishful thinking, you would imagine someone with ME's business acumen and the advice of his lawyers the contract would contain a number of clauses/targets. The only slight issues might be, the fallout from Covid come to PL's rescue.
