Could we get relegated? on 08:09 - Jan 31 with 1931 views | itfcjoe | Hugely unlikely, we’d have to accumulate something like 10 points in second half of the season for that to happen

Could we get relegated? on 08:11 - Jan 31 with 1915 views | Herbivore | There's a mathematical chance given we currently have 36 points and that's not enough to stay up. However based on the current form of the bottom 4 we'd probably stay up with 46 points so we need 10 points from 23 games. Bad as we are, we've picked up 10 points from our last 10 games. Anyone seriously mentioning relegation this season is, frankly, a full blown bedwetter.

Could we get relegated? on 08:28 - Jan 31 with 1844 views | le2blue | Not this season no, but if things continue we have that indignity to look forward to next season, when the clowns in charge have the salary cap to contend with, can't wait.
Could we get relegated? on 08:34 - Jan 31 with 1820 views | ArnoldMoorhen | Highly. highly unlikely. Wigan would need to gain 15 points over us in half a season. We need about 10 to 12 points to be "almost certainly safe". But probably only another 7 or 8 to have more points than the team in 22nd at the end of the season. Which is a point per 3 games, or our current, dreadful, form. Three scrappy wins in half a season sees us home. The fact that we have only conceded 3 goals in 3 games, with two red cards, during a statistically out-lying period of bad form makes it very, very unlikely that we would fail to achieve that many points, no matter what. 10 more draws? Yes, we are capable of that! The theoretical "definitely safe" figure would be the total for a perfect storm where everyone wins and loses the right number of their remaining games, with no draws anywhere, so that everyone (apart from us and the current bottom 2 who lose every remaining match) ends up on the same number of points. Basically, the team top at the half way point has to get the results the team who are bottom have and vice versa. I'm not going to work it out, it would take ages, and would have to take into account who has played who! But it is going to put Swindon (and everyone else) on more than 70 points. So, yes, in that scenario, we are a long way from mathematically safe. But then again so are Hull!

Why would you think we can't manage 10 points in half a season? We've picked up 10 points in our last 8 games.

Could we get relegated? on 08:51 - Jan 31 with 1732 views | Chrisd | No. I know I keep mentioning it, but it is unlikely. However, what I do genuinely believe is with our current form, the inability to consistently win games and our general lack of a threat in the final third, 11th last season will look impressive. Our analytical stats tells you all you need to know about us, finishing in the bottom third of this league is more likely the longer this dire situation is allowed to continue and nothing is done by our owner.

Ipswich Town will NOT be relegated! Paul Lambert will NOT allow the Club to be put in a position where it could face the prospect of non-league football within one season.

Nah, we'll hopefully sack him before then.

Next season is going to be catastrophic is he's allowed to stay on, isn't it? A likely clear out to meet salary cap regs means we'll be relying on his ability to coach, motivate, pick and set tactics for a side largely based around youth team products. We'll be f**ked.
