I'm emailing the club again 13:19 - Feb 10 with 6134 views | Herbivore | I know it makes no difference but given the lack of options this is as close as I can get to chanting for Lambert to be sacked at PR. And I guess if the inbox goes quiet for a bit they might assume that we're actually all now seeing the green shoots after all.

I'm emailing the club again on 14:03 - Feb 10 by ElderGrizzly | I think you'd be able to argue the case for a full refund based on what was offered when you bought vs what was provided. I guess if they can prove you accessed iFollow for certain games they might deduct £10 for each, but I can't see them going that route. |
I can't see them offering full refunds. ST holders have been able to watch every home game, whether they choose to or not isn't on the club. As a ST holder I'd usually miss 3 or 4 games a season for various reasons but wouldn't expect the club to refund me for choosing not to go to those games. I expect it'll be a partial refund plus offer of sweeteners for next season (free tickets for mates, some vouchers maybe, tickets for cup games).

I'm emailing the club again on 14:18 - Feb 10 by PhilTWTD | The whispers around this I've heard are that the club plan to offer fans the alternative of putting their money from this season's season ticket into next season's. Presumably with a cash refund option and something like the voucher scheme, I would guess. I asked Lee O'Neill about this year's season tickets and next year's on Friday and he said the matter is with Marcus and no decisions made due to the uncertainty. “That’s being dealt with directly with Marcus. Obviously with the current bail-outs and bits and bobs Marcus is going through all those areas. “As you can imagine, the things I have to cover daily and are ranging right through from the U9s all the way through to the first team, so Marcus and the team are picking that aspect up and that’s something that will be reviewed over the next few months and when decisions are made they will be communicated by the club.”

A sane person might wonder why the general manager is having to be involved with decisions related to the U9’s.

Because Lee's job is meant to be general manager of football operations and also academy manager, not the chief executive or managing director but in the absence of one of them he has to pick up slack on areas he shouldn't have to. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Indeed, although the last CEO we had found himself not really running the club as ME wanted to have the last say on everything. As I think I may have said before on here, the structure of the club is a bit of a mess at the moment.

The point being, you didn't buy to watch online and in fact you might not be able to due to internet speed etc. I'm sure you're right, but someone who hung on hoping we'd be back in grounds before now may well have a case

I looked at the T&Cs for the season ticket the other day, doesn’t mention anything about the substitution of I follow for live games, especially as they were sold on basis that we should be attending. The article on the ITFC site when the deal for free ifollow was offered doesn’t mention anything about it being a replacement for season tickets and the cost being deducted so I would agree that they can’t take anything off the refunds. But I can see ME trying it.

Mentions it here, back when ST renewals were launched: https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/ipswich-town-season-tickets-2666456 Here is the extract: "Say the 2020/21 season kicks off behind closed doors? It’s too early to say exactly how the technology will work but again the free, live streaming option to season ticket holders will be at the forefront of the Club’s plans. There will also be the additional free tickets to other games outlined in Marcus’ letter to those who renew by May 7" I don't think it's right to say that they were sold on the basis of fans attending, they were pretty clear about the uncertainty and about contingency plans for games being behind closed doors. I doubt they thought the whole season would be behind closed doors though, so that has changed things a bit. Still not sure about STs being fully refunded given all home games have been available for free to ST holders on iFollow.

Fair enough, but nothing in the T&C’s or any of the club communications to say any use of streaming would be taken into account for any refunds. Even the extract you posted says “free live streaming” which infers no cost to fans who use it.

Not sure about your interpretation there. When I got my renewal letter I was left with the impression that streaming would replace attending games that were behind closed doors and the compensation was the additional free tickets for every missed match. Obviously virtually the whole season being behind closed doors changes things, but streaming being offered for behind closed doors games was very much part of the package being offered.

Think this probably sums things up as I know I’m not the only fan to have interpreted it the way I have and I’m sure there are plenty who see it the way you do. Be interesting to see how it is done if it is reduced to take into account ifollow as we have 2 tickets in our house and only used my log in for ifollow.

I don't accept that the refund could be the price of the season ticket minus £10 for each game watched on ifollow as I would never pay £10 to watch a game on my phone. I refuse to pay sky as it is a rip off. However £10 to watch a game with awful camera work and a free commentary from radio Suffolk is a rip off.

I just think it's a bit unrealistic to expect they'll give you a full refund plus a full season of home games on iPlayer for free.

Is there any chance out vouchers will be extended as I haven't spent mine as I thought they only worked at the club shop in person. With lockdown restrictions mean I cannot justify a 100 mile round trip to spend them. It was only on here a couple of weeks ago I realised they can be sent in the post. I did plan to use them ag the ground for food and drink. I don't always buy merchandise and at this present time I don't really want to walk around with this disgrace of s football club on my back. Also the away kit is one of the worst I can remember in my life time.
