Skuse is the real problem.

I can't believe how many points we've dropped this season because of him.

As I have said for years. You know My view is that it wont change regardless who is manager within Evans in charge. But Skuse has played (literally) a big part of the clubs demise.

What?

The owner is the main cause of our demise. Since his take over, all managers he has appointed have either failed miserably or performed very averagely.

The idea of appointing a player who has been with the club whilst playing the dross negative football for years doesn’t appeal to me personally.

You must really hate the likes of Downes and Woolf then seeing as we’ve basically been nothing bud dreadful since they’ve been a part of the team, as opposed to Skuse who at least was also playing when we had what little success we’ve had in the Evans era (and isn’t playing now either)

Are people also suggesting Downes or Wolf to be the manager?

Hardly anyone is seriously suggesting Skuse as manager, however I was responding solely to the the “ But Skuse has played (literally) a big part of the clubs demise.” part of your post, which is just nonsense

So he wasn’t in the squad in the relegation season, or any of the underwhelming seasons running up to the inevitable relegation?

To suggest maybe Skuse would follow on in the same guise as those he's worked under is disengenuious.

He's had a manager, wanted to play football (that's his job) and done as told, as any decent employee would.

Moving into the hot seat gives any aspiring manager/coach the opportunity to change what they think is wrong (and keep what is right). Whether that ultimately works depends on many things, but I don't think any player at our club who moves into management should be tarred with "part of the ITFC demise". Hugely shortsighted.

I don't particularly hold Skuse, Chambers or any other player as being significantly responsible for our recent decline, but... I've got to admit I find it confusing when people seem so keen for them to continue being involved in the club.

Like, why? I don't get it.

2016/17 aside, which was obviously a poor season albeit heavily impacted by selling and not replacing Murphy, the other 4 seasons Skuse had been here had seen top half finished, 3 of which were an improvement on the previous year (and the one that wasn’t being a massive 1 place drop). So how was he contributing to underwhelming seasons leading to inevitable relegation exactly?

I would suggest there was a much more obvious thing which happened sometime around the Summer of 2018, which led to our relegation, personally
