....who wrote the excellent article in there last week.

Rich from Blue Monday podcast has interviewed him and pod will drop in the usual places and YouTube at 6pm.....really interesting, and JW seems adamant that there is something in this talk of takeover or something along those lines.....well worth a listen

I met Jim White at a book launch at The Ivy in about 1997. Also met Kenneth Wolstenholme that day.

If you ever throw that into a game of 'claim to fame top trumps' it really would be all over.

Just gave that a watch, think Rich comes across really well as a host and gave Jim room to talk whilst gently steering the conversation to places Town fans would want it to go.

I'm still unsure on the whole takeover thing. It was all a bit vague. And there were a couple of points where I didn't think Jim was quite on the money and he kept talking about ME's lack of investment and the impact of Covid when I imagine we've spent more on the 6 loanees we have than some of the smaller clubs at this level are spending on their whole first team squad.

Really enjoyable listen on the whole and good to get an outside perspective on the goings on at Town. We are an odd case. For all ME's faults he doesn't fall into the basket case category of owner or the shyster category either. He's just very passive and reactive, and seemingly wants to oversee the main goings on at the club but doesn't want to devote the time to it that is needed to do so. We're dying through chronic low-level neglect.

Yeah likewise a very good listen/watch but for me the whole takeover side of conversation was very vague indeed .

I'm hoping for the most a takeover is imminent with obvious criteria met moving forward and looking long term but I got the impression , we perhaps know a little more than Jim and that isn't much either

I'm really sceptical that there's anything in the takeover rumours to be honest. The majority of the talk hasn't been from credible sources and Phil has some decent contacts I expect and the only positive thing he's heard from any of them is that it's not true, the others just haven't heard anything one way or the other. I think fans are trying to find reasons for Lambert not being sacked that just aren't there. We know ME has almost always been reluctant to pull the trigger and whilst the play offs aren't a million miles away I think he's just happy to wait and see.

I have a friend that works for an arm of ME, and from what he's said to me they are anything but in crisis. I'd actually asked him about his job security knowing who he worked for and he seemed to feel that overall the ME group had actually done well out of what has happened over the last year.

No big ticket events to sell, sure, but they were ahead of the curve with a lot of online conferences and training and had the capital to be able to solidify that position, at least that was the impression he left me with.

I atually thought the pandemic would be disastrous for us due to ME struggling, actually I don't think that's the case at all.

I was listening to this last night, it’s a very interesting development this is the 1st reliable source this story has come from. However as discussions are underway Marcus won’t be appointing anyone new
