The counter argument is that the overall trend under ME is obvious. To continue down the same path without major changes is unlikely to change the trend.
This might turn out to be a bad move, not doing anything is definitely a bad move.

If this is all true suspect that in reality they will buy the club but not use their own money. Instead of the club being in debt to Marcus Evans it will be in debt to some US pension fund .

The obvious counter to that is that all the other clubs have owners, and there have been many takeovers since Evans bought us. Not many have been on a worse run over the last 13 years. Some will have of course, but there won't be that many that have become so stale and dropped to their lowest league position on 60+ years.
The ideas that we were unsellable or that nobody could do better than Evans are preposterous. Both are easily possible.
The issues have always been:
1) what impact the debt would have on ME's thinking, and whether that would lead to an elevated price that would put people off - it seems not, and that he's willing to reach a deal (he has little choice really if he wants to sell up).
2. How good any incoming buyer would be and whether they could turn things around - still to be proven. There's no evidence to support writing off the proposed buyers. |  |

Yeah I mean its not happened yet but I'm wrong in terms of I didnt think anyone would have a realistic interest.
Unfortunately I believe anybody that does right now doesn't have the clubs best intentions at heart. Evans businesses are hardly the best covid proof markets so unlike previous years its not surprising that Evans likely desperation is going to result in him selling to people who didn't fit his requirements of actually protecting the long term future of the club.
So im not looking forward to what happens although with where we are right now its probably worth a throw of the dice. | | | |

Good of you to hold your hands up, appreciate that. I understand your fears but most of the talk I've been reading about what this group has done before doesn't make me think they're just after a quick buck. I also believe Evans still wants the best for the club - particularly as he's keeping a 5% stake in it. | |
