For a 6'7 GK to be beaten by a tame shot from outside the box that isn't in the top corner is criminal. For those that don't agree with me, please take a look at the goals we have conceded over the course of the season. You will note that this is not the only time he should have done better. A lot of the goals he is standing still admiring the ball going past him. We need a GK the likes of Kelvin Davis, Begavic, Wright again because I'm afraid Holy will not get better, he just isn't agile enough to be a good GK.
I stand by my post on here a few weeks back (below).
Being a Semi-Pro GK myself, I analyse every GK performances and I have to say Holy is awful. This may take a few of you by surprise but let me tell you why:
- For his size, he does not command his area at all and often looks scared
- Cannot move his feet
- Reactions are extremely slow
- Bang average shot-stopper
- Bad distribution
- Poor decision maker
- Doesn’t talk
- Loses his head once he makes a mistake

I think the main problem with this post is that it ignores how many posts there have already been saying the same thing.
None of them needed to say "I told you", or "I train with..."
They are fans who have watched and reached similar conclusions, then you pop along and think you're onto something.

The problem with wanting a Davis, Begovic or Wright again is that we're in League One and Holy is a League One standard keeper.

Sure, but we can still do better than Holy. For example, Burge (Sunderland), Ingram (Hull), Amos (Charlton) and MacGillivray (Portsmouth) are all better League 1 keeps than Holy. |  | | |
