For a 6'7 GK to be beaten by a tame shot from outside the box that isn't in the top corner is criminal. For those that don't agree with me, please take a look at the goals we have conceded over the course of the season. You will note that this is not the only time he should have done better. A lot of the goals he is standing still admiring the ball going past him. We need a GK the likes of Kelvin Davis, Begavic, Wright again because I'm afraid Holy will not get better, he just isn't agile enough to be a good GK.
I stand by my post on here a few weeks back (below).
Being a Semi-Pro GK myself, I analyse every GK performances and I have to say Holy is awful. This may take a few of you by surprise but let me tell you why:
- For his size, he does not command his area at all and often looks scared
- Cannot move his feet
- Reactions are extremely slow
- Bang average shot-stopper
- Bad distribution
- Poor decision maker
- Doesn’t talk
- Loses his head once he makes a mistake
The thing is I don’t think Cornell can is much better either. |  | | |  |

FWIW I think authority and knowledge on here is built up over time not with one or two posts on the same subject, maybe a bit less on your credentials and more on the case against Holy.

I agree with a lot of the sentiment to some extent, just not the aggressive lecturing. |

I think most on here agree Holy isn't a long term option, especially if we go up. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Cook bring a new keeper in but right now he's the best we have in my opinion. Cornell hasn't impressed me. How do you feel he's done when he's had chances? For the rest of this season I think Holy is the better option and just hope he's enough to see us get in the play offs. |  |

It’s always disappointing when the GK seems to make no attempt to save a shot. But in my experience - I played keeper in local leagues for about 15 yrs- there is nearly always a reason. I’ve looked at the highlights several times and I think at the time the shot was fired off he was unsighted behind 3 players. It was also a very good shot - hard, curling in and actually went just inside the post. Not an easy shot - but would nice to have seen him make a token effort all the same! |  |

He is indeed far too rooted to the spot to the extent he seems to be caught flat footed an awful lot. He does not appear to be on his toes and as some have said, has watched too many balls sail past him without a hint of him moving. However, the "we are in L1 what do you expect?" argument has some validity. Having said that, I don't think he is in the top dozen keepers in L1 for that matter. A good prem loan for a season may well be our best bet, just not a Will Norris kind of loan please. |  |

Cooper has a marvellous soft Brummie accent though, and seems to have a nice dry wit in the interviews in which he has participated which I have seen. Craig Forrest pissed me off in Bar Extreme once, in relation to a young lady, so he can take his Canadian drawl elsewhere.
Bar Extreme most certainly was not, although I have just realised it could have been upgraded substantially by the practice of adding an 'e' and an 's' to the the ends of its constituent parts, and insisting on enforcing that. |  |
