is there a more fragile powder puff central midfield pairing in world football on 16:56 - Mar 20 with 2641 views | Hullblue | Agree that we should have a Downes or Skuse in there for balance, but I actually don’t think they were bullied out of it today at all. If anything we lost because we started smashing it over their heads repeatedly in the second half for no apparent reason. No offence intended but it’s such a classic English football fan thing to say we lost because we weren’t aggressive enough. Actually we lost because we didn’t play football well enough.

I swear there are some football fans who'd rather have Cattermole and Scott Brown than David Silva and Xavi. I want entertaining players because at the end of the day entertainment is all that really matters. [Post edited 20 Mar 2021 17:02]

i'd definitely keep doz & bish too if we could, but they need to be played alongside more of an enforcer. 2 downes would be a return to the skuse/douglas era

Agree both have the talent but also need to step up responsibility. As Cook has mentioned a few times ... they need to live and breathe football.

I'm putting sentiment aside. Dozzell doesn't influence games enough for me and Bishop had a terrific impact in 2014/15, but injuries have really hampered him. I've said this before, but I'm not sure what our midfield offers? They don't create, tackle, dominant the opponents and rarely get beyond the striker to score goals. We've got a lot of sentiment with a lot of those players in midfield because they are youth products, but sadly they just don't deliver consistently enough. They are still players with potential, but the problem is they aren't young players any more they are men, but don't play like it.
