Apparently it goes against their standards. The context was that someone was not being crazy.

I use it as got lots of friends on there.

But a couple of months ago, I and a number of people, saw very unsuitable posts on a page we follow (about general music/fashion/TV from the 70s and 80s)) and an American man had lots of photos and cartoons of male children barechested and in their underpants. It deeply disturbed us, and we all reported him and blocked him from the page.

But it wasn't deemed wrong by Facebook He is still on there. While a few friends got a week's ban for mentioning certain lyrics in a Pogues Xmas song...

Like you, I use it to stay in touch with some friends. Also use it for some private groups. Stopped using it completely for public groups though, and there are also some security aspects to be very careful about.

I said before but I packed it in on there after I'd reported a couple of sites that were openly promoting some dodgy stuff and got told they were within their [FB] rules.

So I called the people running those sites a *bad word* and got banned immediately myself.

The standards on there are all over the shop.


This is what happens when users outweigh moderators at 0.000005 to 1.

AI and algorithms are smart and do some clever stuff, but they lack context and at times are outright wrong. Not to mention FB's main aim is to get you upset/outraged by showing more posts triggering said emotions.

F**k em.

I think they do. I can't imagine Zuckerberg employing hordes to keep a watch on everyones feed. That would be a huge number of employees with 1.6 billion active daily users or a huge and unwieldy algorithm.
