McGuiness simply isn't ready 19:33 - Apr 20 with 1715 viewsStokieBlue

He's been woeful.

Oh, 2-0.

Sigh.

Been saying it for ages. Don't get why he's being preferred to Chambers.

Ridiculous that we're playing an Arsenal youngster who isn't very good and won't be here next season over our own players.

He looks shellshocked. Not winning a single header.

There was no point signing him in the first place. His signing has caused us no end of problems.

We needed someone in as cover at the time. I'm not sure why Cook is looking at him now though when we have everyone fit.

I’m just wondering why he’s even play8ng him when Toto has done OK and is our player.

I don't think we did, to be fair, we could have just played Donacien at right back and moved Chambers to the middle.

We needed a right back, we didn't need a centre back. Woolf was only a couple of weeks away from being fit and Wilson and Nsiala were playing at the time. A right back would have freed Chambers up to go back into his natural position, plus we still had Ndaba as back up if needed. Instead we signed another CB, persisted with Chambers put of position for most of the season, ruined Woolf's development, and got very little of any use out of McGuiness. Utterly muddled thinking.

Nsiala was injured on Saturday - I presume he still is tonight? Why we're not playing Chambers is highly questionable though - it'd also allow us to play Kenlock on the left instead of Ward, who surely won't be here next season either.

Have a look at the rest of our back line how do they get away from any criticism? Collectively, they’ve been bloody dreadful, but much easier to focus on the young, loan player instead of the far more experienced players around him.

Ah, thanks. Strange about Chambers. This, together with Cooks comments suggests Cook doesn’t intend to play him next season.

Even less point playing a loan at this stage. Particularly when won’t be here next season. Thankfully.

Playing Woolfenden and McGuinness together in the middle is completely unfair on both to be fair. Both need to be beside an experienced centre back - it's a shame we haven't got one available, isn't it?

Because he's been worse that the rest of them by quite a distance.

Agree they have been poor though, Wolf looks like he's forgotten how to play CB.

He hasn’t, we’ve had some dreadful displays, but he isn’t ours he’s singled out. Have a little look closer to home, our own players have been shocking and an utter disgrace to the shirt and have been for quite some time now.

Maybe I'm a bit blind when it comes to Woolfenden but when you look at how he played last season there's certainly a player in there. I think he's been treated awfully this season - I think I counted that he's only been partnered in the middle by someone older than him in just three matches this season, then had a number of matches at right back. He needs someone experienced beside him still, not a kid who hadn't played a minute of league football before he joined us.

This. We've utterly failed Woolf this season.

Thanks for telling me my opinion is wrong whilst yours is of course correct.

I'm talking about this specific match, why are you invoking other matches?

He's always held the view that because McGuiness is on Arsenal's books he must be quality and if doesn't show it then it's because of our cloggers.

Let’s talk about tonight’s match, whose playing well for us then in your opinion? For me, it is the whole season, our overall failure isn’t just about another inept TEAM display and an indifferent performance from a young defender at Northampton.

I’m still laughing about the comment, ‘if you can’t see Jackson is a decent player you don’t know football!’ Yeah thanks for that, perhaps concentrate more on downvoting you excel at that! 🙄
