Only asking this as I see local journo's interacting with him on twitter

BUT seriously, 43, worth a season IF Berke was able to work his magic?

The media/marketing side of it would be immense, shirt sales etc. But what about the player.. i've no idea at league 1 level who the oldest players have been.

Agree on Twitter. I don't really use it purely for that reason. It's more about snappy one liners than in depth discussion.

Apologies for sort of dragging you into this thread. I mean, i know you started the thread but I didn't intend to drag up your posting style again. Was trying to be supportive!

It's alright, it's my fault, I brought the thread back up to begin with, so opened myself up there

I think it's a constructive discussion though rather than anything confrontational.

I don't have an issue personally. My issue here was with J2 saying that if people don't appreciate a given posters posting style they're somehow trying to hide they care about the club.

I've got used to your posting style now, and even if I hadn't I think you should feel free to post however you want, as often as you want. A while back I'll admit the amount you were posting, and the things you were posting about, was at a level where it was taking up a lot of the forum and nothing was really leading to a discussion anyway. That is probably what a lot of people are basing their opinions on.

Look, there have been times when I've probably posted on here more than you do. But, when I was in those periods, I also had to deal with people telling me they thought I posted too much, or that they didn't appreciate what I was posting - and maybe they were right.

If you're going to start a load of threads, all about similar things, you're going to get some people who think it's too much and it'll put them off getting involved. That's just a fact. Just as you're free to post whatever you like, other people are free to not like it.

How much you care about that depends on how many people you want to get involved with your discussions. Like everyone else on here, the response you receive is related to the way you conduct yourself. I don't think you should change what you want to do though, and I don't think anyone should tell you to change either. Anyone doing that should pipe down.

The separate issue on here lately (and I don't think you're involved in this one) is people posting their opinions and then having a meltdown when other people disagree.

Sorry Spruce, forgot to reply

I will admit, going back some of the threads I started were pointless, hold my hands up with that, I won't apologise for the replying as I do believe that's what this forum is for, but i've tried my best to limit the amount of 'non useful' starting of threads. Albeit I fked up with a pointless one about norwood on sat, I'll let the drink take the blame for that one ;)

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Like I said it all depends on the kind of response you'd like to get. I happen to agree with SB that a lower number of threads started would probably lead to a higher quality discussion.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Nobody here tries to win the internet.

What's been happening is that we've had a set of posters decide to start using the forum like their own internal monolog, too often wanting to put their views out there but not wanting any response or reaction them.

Say your piece, by all means post the same thing fifty times a day if you want, just don't have a cry when other people don't necessarily agree with you. Who cares if people think you're wrong? Believe what you believe. Nobody should need their views validated by other people here.

Agreed. And show some self awareness people

To counter the point if someone continually cites "its being said on social media" as a valid reason to repost things here then in my opinion they open themselves up to a greater level of analysis. Using an "appeal to authority" fallacy like that then getting upset when people don't agree isn't debating. It's expecting everyone to agree with you and given TWTD isn't an echo chamber it's on the poster as much as the responders.

There is a difference between enthusiasm which is great and just posting everything you come across with no filter. Why even mention Drogba coming to play for Ipswich? It's nonsensical.

The issue here is that with volume, the good posts tend to get lost in the chaff and I am sure that is something nobody wants. CM makes some valid points and got some uppies from me yesterday. Perhaps volume does have a quality all of it's own but for me, the gems get lost in the noise. Each to their own though and people should do as they please.

Whilst I get your point SB. This is exactly the place to discuss things you see on social media

As player I can understand those saying no. Does it open up the possibilities of Drogba coming in in a different capacity... could the link up with a person of Drogba perhaps open up an alternative recruitment route.

All worth while discussions to have and why not. It beats talking about not scoring for 10 hours.
