Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One 16:10 - May 7 with 5434 views | pointofblue | Completely unable to even give a straight answer or plan - then wonder why Labour are struggling to connect with the public. The first interview is difficult after a result like this but he looked unprepared and on the run.

Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One on 12:09 - May 8 by Darth_Koont | Back at you. I’m sure you’ll be able to contrast Corbyn’s personal campaigning over Remain with the activity and profile of the Labour Remain campaign itself? |
That makes no sense at all.

Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One on 11:48 - May 8 by tractordownsouth | His most memorable moment of the campaign was going on The Last Leg in a silly coat and giving "7.5 out of 10" support for Remain. |
You do yourself no favours by slipping into the disingenuous stuff. That was his view on the EU which is a clear remain and reform position. I don’t agree with his view on the EU. But there’s little doubt that having an unequivocal, unnuanced view on the EU and Brexit has been worse for our politics and worse for everyone.

I would absolutely welcome him back. I may not agree with most of what he says but his ideology should be represented. I see no sense in Labour becoming Tory Light again like they did under Blair, surely there should be more than a fag paper between the two main parties? It has been suggested on here that there should be some Labour / Green Party amalgamation, I think that's a cracking idea actually.

Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One on 17:24 - May 7 by GlasgowBlue | Do you mean too right for the membership? The Plp has always been to the right of the membership. As for Burnham being to the right. He's very much soft left. |
Joyous, Joyous Times... Another GE next Spring ? 100 seat majority, there for the asking... Boris Brexit BOOOM...

Add the Monster Raving Loonies to that coalition and you have The Trilogy of Doom... You noticed that the Greens and the LibDems combined, at Hartlepool, polled Over 700 votes... ...between them...?

Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One on 17:20 - May 7 by Swansea_Blue | Fair to say he's been a disappointment. He's an intelligent guy, but boy does he need to work on his messaging. There's obviously a reasonable argument that it's too early in the voting cycle and he should be judged on their next manifesto & election results. But how many more people will have been disenfranchised by then? He really could do with building up some momentum by using all the government scandals better. They should be an open goal. |
I think I’m mostly where you are on this. I don’t know much about Starmer. He strikes me as a decent and intelligent man. However he has all the charisma of a paving slab. Now while I firmly believe that it should be all about competence, integrity, ability to do the job etc, sadly the charisma element has never been more important. Otherwise, how could a lazy incompetent like Johnson be PM? Clearly for reasons beyond my understanding he appeals to people. Starmer doesn’t. I do think it’s too early in the voting cycle, not in time terms but because of the Pandemic and to a lesser extent Brexit. The pandemic has obliterated everything including any impact the opposition might make. I think the next 12 months is crucial for him. The Labour Party looks divided and until they decide what they truly are and gain real consensus within the party to support it, BJ and the village idiots will continue to gain far more support than they deserve. The country needs proper, strong opposition to hold this awful government to account, and quickly. My own political leanings/opinion tells me they need to move to the centre ground, currently occupied by nobody (the liberals with pilsbury dough boy Davey don’t count). But I may well be wrong. Either way the Labour Party needs to be clear on where it is and what it’s message is. As far as using scandals and trousering expenses, contracts etc to attack the govt is concerned, the problem is how many opposition MP (including SNP ones) have their noses in the trough? I’d love to see an independent enquiry on all of it, but it’ll never happen. Too many skeletons - everywhere.

Keir Starmer's abysmal interview on BBC One on 11:23 - May 8 by Darth_Koont | That’s certainly the narrative. But the evidence says he was out there campaigning for Remain. But as the leader of the left and the opposition he got precious little coverage as the media story was that this was a right-wing Conservative government and UKIP drama. But whatever you need to tell yourself. |
JC tried to ride two horses with one arse, he was a huge critic of the EU and advocated leaving due to the EU position on state aid amongst many others. He barely raised his head above the parapet during campaigning, still his cultists swooned, he and his cultists are enablers of the sh1t show tory government.

The Greens in their current form are pointless. They attract unworldly wise students, dropouts and Islington type Nice but Dims. I genuinely feel though that Labours only medium term chance is to reform and become a forward thinking Green type party. Now that Boris has cured Covid I had the joy of going to The Arcade Tavern last night with my mates and had a great time as it happens. My friends are predominately very left leaning but unlike TW4TD we could laugh and discuss without getting into a rage as we are all of sound mind. My most lefty Che tee shirt wearing mate was a bit sozzled and told me that he got £250 for being one of those ballot box monkeys - and only 110 turned up to register their vote!

As a Conservative, I am very keen to conserve. Always have been. I had well-developed views... Sadly, I have forgotten them. I guess I'm now too old to be suffering from Early Onset Dementia, aren't I ? However, Mr Bloo and I will be appearing Live, not with Ed... but at Bent Lane with, no doubt, just three other bent old men... I used to, as you may remember, thoroughly enjoy Training - no, I never took part...Bad Knee, as all failed players say...not that I played footer at school... I thought I would be dead by now but it seems to be unproven... ...tho, I accept that one can prove anything with statistics... Lefties are having to swallow some HUUUUGE stats...Houchen took 75% of the votes in the Tees Valley mayoral contest. As BBC commented (thru gritted teeth) that's almost North Korean. In Midbro ?!!! BORIS. BREXIT. BOOOOOM. Do you remember Houchen's uncle, Keith, who was unfairly awarded goal of the season by MOTD ? Warkie scored goals like that every week. Watched highlights of first leg of UEFA final, this morning. I had a copy of the 1978 cup final...but I lost it. I didn't lend it to you, did I ? TWTD proves that the North Stand is still as wedded to silly 'progressive' political mirages, despite its occupants having grown old...leftie liberalism was understandable when TWTD was populated only by YOUNG NS chaps...old lefties always look so Ugly, don't they, worn out by their poverty and angst. Did you see the funny photo of Sir Keith Stairrod, captioned, 'Last week, it was wallpaper; this week, it's Curtains...' How We Laughed... We are certainly living thru A Golden Age...happy to be alive and hopeful that Boris may reign even longer than did The Blessed Margaret... hashtagRoaring20s
